Been awhile but I've gone from Seattle, WA to Blacksburg, VA in 3 days. I'm pretty sure that's averaging more than 12 hours/day. Next time I made the trip in 4 days which wasn't nearly as painful!

Come to think of it, I've also done Blacksburg, VA to Dallas/Fort Worth in a single day (but I had a rider and we switched turns).

Strictly the one doing the driving, or driving & riding?

As far as driving records... I've driven with my knees from where the Palisades Parkway meets I-87 to the Albany, NY exit (23) off of I-87 to I-787 (approx 120 miles). It was late at night and it was the only way I could make sure I paid attention enough not to fall asleep.

It was insane! And we did it in an over-packed Trans Am so it wasn't even slightly roomy.

thats only like 2 hours of driving, maybe less. i couldnt imagine not being able to stay awake for 2 hours.

i bought some redbull shots and will have to prob drink coffee which sux. i have a tee time the morning i arrive so i hope i dont feel like a zombie.

and yes driving and riding counts. stopping at gas stations and rest stops is also ok. stopping at a motel to sleep is NOT ok.

According to Mapquest it is longer than 52 hours.

Total Travel Estimate: 61 hours 14 minutes / 3398.34 miles (from my hometown to Anchorage)

Long but written in typical engrossing Wired style.

Yeah, normally it would've been no prob except it was when I was in college and working over-nights at Dennys... I worked over night, went home at 7am, slept until 9am, drove down to long island was awake all day, then drove home at 2am.

As far as longest drive straight up drive... drove/rode 13-14 hrs (don't recall exactly) from Albany, NY to Charleston, SC on my way to Fl once...
