Medics wanted to test the baby's blood, but the parents refused and fled the hospital, before agreeing to have her transferred to another facility.
An ambulance crew ferried the baby girl to Diamond Children's Hospital, where the pair were still opposed to a toxicology test.
But urine and toxicology tests conducted by hospital staff alongside child welfare officials eventually revealed the baby had ingested cocaine.
In a report, one detective wrote: "It should be noted that at no time according to the report did either parent tell the hospital staff about the mother's cocaine use the night before and Krystin continued to breast feed while at the hospital."

Following their court appearance, their attorney, Michael Piccarreta, said the couple are "emotionally distraught and very, very upset" and have "learned some lessons".
Speaking to KVOA, he said: "We all make mistakes. We all have done things we regret.
"The facts are that these are excellent parents, the child was well taken care of, the child was never harmed and is responding beautifully.
"They're going through the process to demonstrate to everybody that they're fit, excellent parents and this incident will never be repeated."
uh huh...never harmed.
I feel the need to punch him.

Hopefully "this incident will never be repeated" because they will lose custody of the child.

Awww, go easy on them. According to their friend, she only did "one line, tops."
