I have had my eye of Kayaks for a couple weeks now and last week when I was in Dicks an employee said they are having their biggest sale of the year this week. I got a circular with the Sunday paper confirming this. I am not sure if this is regional or not but I am in upstate NY.
There are some really great deals to be had and I will be picking one up this week.
Sale is June 26 - July 2. Financing available for purchases of 299 or more.

Also get a score card. I purchased the kayak and used one 10$ off coupon. Then used the points I accumulated from the kayak with another 10$ off coupon to get a 70$ paddle for 15$!

I don't have a roof rack myself (sedan, for fusion) but will just fold down my rear seats and bungee down my truck, cheap and quick. Worked perfect for taking it home from the store.

1) Dick's website and Dick's retail are not the same company for some reason I don't understand and accordingly, the retails stores do not price-match the price on their own website.
2) If you decide to buy this off the website, the shipping charge will be around $200. The "free shipping" on orders over a certain amount does not apply to especially large items like kayaks.
In practice, you won't get this deal for under $450.
That being said, can any kayakers offer any comments on how this model would compare quality-wise to the popular one on amazon.com called the Emotion Glide?
p.s., monkeybiz: "kayak" didn't bring up this thread because you have to enter the plural "kayaks" instead (i don't know why, the SD search engine is picky perhaps)
As far as the emotion glide I have no idea. I ended up getting a fishing one myself. But a quick google search will tell you about all the different models, pluses and minuses, and I was able to find many reviews online for each model as well.
