I have had my eye of Kayaks for a couple weeks now and last week when I was in Dicks an employee said they are having their biggest sale of the year this week. I got a circular with the Sunday paper confirming this. I am not sure if this is regional or not but I am in upstate NY.

There are some really great deals to be had and I will be picking one up this week.

I grew up with canoes and this will be my first boat of my own. Kayaks just seem much more practical in many situations, which if probably why they have gained so much popularity since I was a kid. And now with so many different models available, anyone can find something to fit their needs.

thanks...just looking at the emotion glide on amazon today. the coleman rebel looks identical to me for $100 less and a vest and paddle included...

Hey guys, I took advantage of this deal today. Wanted to mention to use this $10 off coupon (http://a.slickdeals.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=571649&d=1307160721) to make the deal even slicker.

Also get a score card. I purchased the kayak and used one 10$ off coupon. Then used the points I accumulated from the kayak with another 10$ off coupon to get a 70$ paddle for 15$!

There are other options if you don't wanna spend the money.

Yakima makes this, http://www.dickssportinggoods.com...Id=3997687 which I know a couple people who use them and love it for the price. Said to be a little time consuming, but at a cost savings of course.

I don't have a roof rack myself (sedan, for fusion) but will just fold down my rear seats and bungee down my truck, cheap and quick. Worked perfect for taking it home from the store.

you could get a cheap truck for that. Seriously these are sweet deals here. Too bad I just bought one off Craigslist yesterday. Very similar to the Rebel w/paddle for $200 delivered here. Didn't see this coming but Dicks is quite a ways down the road, shipping is prohibitive.

I'd almost buy another and sell mine back to craigslist but I haven't even floated it yet. Weird but a "kayak" search didn't bring this up. Bookmarked and repped!!

I am sorry the deal isn't working for you. Where do you live? I wonder if it's regional, I have been in 3 Dicks this week (I travel a bit for work) and all 3 have this sale running.

As far as the emotion glide I have no idea. I ended up getting a fishing one myself. But a quick google search will tell you about all the different models, pluses and minuses, and I was able to find many reviews online for each model as well.

Has any one else had luck with this coupon? The last time that I used one of these 10 off 25 coupons in store I was told that they were counterfeit by the manager. He honored the coupon to keep customer loyalty but informed me that the one I was using was a fake and were all over the internet. I am not stating that this one is a fake, just curious as to how it was come by and if it is legit?

Think again about the seat folding/trunk route, remember kayaks are usually wet, dirty and muddy after a day on the water.
