Price matches (e.g., to Sam's Club) are being accepted! *** Update as of 10/28: Some who ordered 16GB have received shipping and tracking information. But other 16GB orders were cancelled.
    Was possible also to place orders for 32GB from NCIX. As of 10/29, seems that maybe only one SDer has received shipping information for 32GB order placed with NCIX on 10/27.

  • (10/18) WebOS 3.0.4 Update Available - see Precentral [precentral.net] for more information/install instructions and HP for release notes.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • (10/13) HP company store (Palm) sold touchpads only to HP employees for $100 in Sunnyvale, CA. Limited 5 per person [but this is a matter of dispute: an HP employee who belongs to SD says the store did not allow 5]. Had to sign contract saying they won't resell them.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • (10/12) HP has replaced the Touchpad product image with the following announcement on the EPP side of the website (the regular website shows "page not found" error as of 10/11).
    (Image posted 2:55AM PT 10/12/11) (Direct link [hp.com])
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~
  • (10/11) Although shopping.hp.com TP pages are dead for those without access to HP EPP (see below), those who do have EPP accounts report that TP pages are still visible to them -- OOS with $499/$549 pricing.
  • (10/11) TouchPads are removed from the HP website. When you click on the following links, screens say, "We're sorry, the page requested was not found". 16GB LINK [hp.com] and 32GB LINK [hp.com]
  • (10/10) OfficeDepot.com went live for less than a minute at 11:41am .
Quote from 10/8 :
  • For HP Academy and HP partner EPP (like US Gov't), the prices are showing $219/$249 when logged in. Log out and the price jumps to $499/$549.
  • HP currently has the 16GB LINK [hp.com] and the 32GB LINK [hp.com] listed as $499 and $549 (still shows OOS).
Quote from 10/7 :
Quote from 10/5 :
Quote from 10/4 :
  • (through 10/6) Some people were able to place *new orders* to NCIX (if they had the item in their cart previously) and have them processed, price-matched & shipped within 1 day. (Confirmed by myself)
  • Lawson went live briefly, now out of stock. 16GB for $129.99 [bandtcommodities.com]. Orders are getting cancelled and refunded about 15 minutes after it went live.
  • Links are now dead, but pcRUSH.com had non-firesale prices: 16GB for $228.35 [pcrush.com] and 32GB for $258.26 [pcrush.com]. It was possible to apply promo code paypal at checkout for $25 off. Sales tax applies in CA. As of approx. 3 pm ET, "they have about 290 backordered for the 32 and 100 for the 16." Cancellation emails are going out as of 8/5 8:23 AM PST. "Unfortunately demand far exceeded the limited supply of stock on hand. Your order has been canceled due to lack of availability."
Quote from 10/4 :
  • TPs (OOS) have dropped in price at the HP online store, they're now at $219 for 16GB model. [hp.com]/$249 for the 32GB model [hp.com] (was 399$/449$ on 10/2). Both models are OOS.
  • 32GB model at $249 was shown in stock at shopping.HP.com for a short period of time around 3-4am EST 10/3, but everyone who ordered received a notice stating that the order was declined and that they should call a particular number between 10am and 10pm EST.
  • 32GB model at $249 was available again at shopping.HP.com around 5pm EST 10/3. According to sales rep, this was a glitch on the website. No confirmed orders so far.
Rumor only:
(Rumor date - 9/21) TigerDirect supposedly has 2500 more 32GB touchpads waiting to go live shortly in a crap bundle with a 32GB unit/AC Adapter/Belkin case for $199
(Rumor update - 10/3) TigerDirect apparently still has this TP stock ... no telling when they will put it on sale.
(Rumor update - 10/5) TigerDirect apparently still has 2,470 of the 32s just sitting in the warehouses + 330 of the 16s just sitting ...
(Rumor update - 10/7) TigerDirect: Their TPs will eventually be sold in bundles -- only at CompUSA B&M stores - will not be sold online at TD website. Probably another week or two before bundles go on sale at B&M stores. TP bundles will be in all stores to get people in the door for the holiday season. Again, will not be sold online at TD website.
Thank you for your continued interest in webOS and the HP TouchPad. We wanted to update you with a status of your order 305XXXXX
Your order is still confirmed, and we are fulfilling orders daily based on the time the order was received. We expect all orders to ship by October 31st. We will continue to update you of any changes to this date via email until your order ships. We apologize that we cannot give you an exact ship date for your order. Please note that planned ship and delivery dates on the Order Status page are not accurate for TouchPad orders. You will receive a final shipping notification with a tracking number once your order has actually shipped.
If this timeline is not acceptable, please send an email to [email protected] with your instructions for cancellation within a week. Be sure to include your HP order number and the name and ship-to address on the order. Also please indicate clearly if this is the only order requiring cancellation or if you wish all orders in your name to be canceled. You will receive an automated cancel notification when your order cancellation request has been processed. Please be aware, however, that cancellations cannot be reversed, and our US SMB store has sold out of HP TouchPad and will not make any further available for sale
In addition, at the significantly reduced price, the HP TouchPad does not qualify for our standard 30-day return policy and is not returnable.
If you used a credit card for your purchase: Please check the expiration date of the card used for your TouchPad purchase. If it is set to expire within the next few weeks, you will need to contact HP immediately to update the expiration or provide a new card number. You can call 1-800-888-0292, opt 3 to speak to an SMB representative or you can send an email to [email protected] with the subject line "CREDIT CARD CALL-BACK." Please provide the name on the order, the HP order number and a phone number where you can be reached, and a Customer Service Representative will call you back to update the credit card information. Also note that the credit card used for the purchase will be charged at the time of shipment.
Actually I also got that same 2TB WD external Hard drive from Staples during this weekend, at first I was also getting errors with the code they sent me (don't remember seller) and just when I was about to email the seller I realized I had purchased a $25 off $100 coupon, tried a 2nd time with a $25 off $75 coupon, no problems for this time.
I just got mine tonight, I went out side and it was just setting there.
Hope it works, was in a big box and no packing. After BF, I'll check it out.
The errors I got was on the urlhasbeenblocked website trying to clam the coupon I paid for.
Tried for like an hour or more before I went to HotCoupon4u, that one went fast, but as I was checking out on Staples, it went out of stock.
sorry Frown anyway incase you ever do and are trying to do eyefinity even if you have a Graphics card that has 2 dvi ports and 1 hdmi and 1 display port you cannot use 2 dvi's and the hdmi together to use eyefinity you have to use this dvi +dvi+ display port or dvi+hdmi+ display port
to use a third monitor you have to use the display port no matter what
this is for eyefinity if you just want to use all monitors then you can use all available ports
I just came across and am loving Maxivista. Allows you to use another PC as a 2ndary display, so, if you have machine 1 that has a 2nd display and machine 2 - likewise, - you can end up with 4 screens that way. It uses the network - and is probably not up to snuff for gaming if that's your thing, but, it's great for coding. I can splat emacs windows (in viper vi mode of course Smilie ) across 4 screens.
Kind regards
Nice, I hadn't heard of Maxivista before. I also use Input Director or Synergy to share keyboard and mouse input across multiple machines. It doesn't let you use another machine as a secondary display like Maxivista, but I find it handy for using one machine to pull up documentation and my main machine for code windows.
Yes, synergy is also nice and particularly because it works between Linux and Windoze as well. I also have a version compiled for my Touchpad (trying to keep myself on-thread here Wink - which I use under the UbuntuChroot setup if I have that up - so I can mouse and kbd from my main Linux or Windows desktop across onto the TP).
FYI - Maxivista includes a "remote control" feature so that if you had that it would do the same thing when you weren't using the remote display as a display. So a '2-fer' deal Smilie
BTW - I emailed the Maxivista people and asked if they would consider a TP and/or Android port ('cos we could do the latter via CM7 I guess) since they have just released an ipad version. I'll LYallK what they say! bounce
Did you buy the code off ebay? If so do you have to wait for the card or do they send the code by email?
