Ghirardelli® Intense Dark™ Challenge Online Instant Win Game & Sweepstakes ~ 11/30/11

Game/Sweepstakes begins on or about 12:01:01 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") September 1, 2011 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. ET on November 30, 2011.

Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, or the District of Columbia who are at least 21 years of age or the age of majority in their state of residence at time of entry.

HOW TO PLAY THE INSTANT WIN GAME:
1) During the Game Period, visit http://www.intensedarkchallenge.com/; click the "Get Started!" button; a series of ten (10) true/false or multiple choice questions will be displayed. After answering the ten (10) questions, click the "Next" button. A new Quiz will be displayed each week of the Game Period. Correct Quiz answers are not required, and will not affect your chances of winning the Game or Drawing. Accurately complete the online registration form, including your name, email address, address, city, state, zip code, daytime phone number, and date of birth and click the "Submit" button.

2) Once your registration is complete an Instant Win Game play will be displayed indicating whether you are a potential Instant Win Game prize winner, subject to verification. Registered Website visitors who have already completed the current week's Quiz may bypass the Quiz and receive additional Instant Win Game plays (on subsequent Game Period days, in accordance with these Official Rules) by logging in to the Website using their email address. Returning registered Website visitors who have not yet completed the current week's Quiz must take the Quiz to receive additional Instant Win Game plays (on subsequent Game Period days, in accordance with these Official Rules).

Upon verification, the first 100 eligible entrants to complete the first week's Quiz and registration will receive a Ghirardelli Pairing Kit ("Pairing Kit Award"). Limit one Pairing Kit Award per person per email address.

Limit one Instant Win Game play per person, per email address, per day during Game Period.

All eligible Instant Win Game entrants will be automatically entered into the Grand Prize Drawing. Each valid, eligible, fully completed Instant Win Game play submitted by an eligible entrant will be deemed one entry into the Grand Prize Drawing. Limit one entry per person, per email address, per day.

PRIZES:
One hundred (100) Pairing Kit Awards: Ghirardelli Pairing Kit: $25.00.

One (1) Grand Prize: A four (4) - day, three (3) - night trip for Grand Prize Winner and (1) guest to San Francisco, California. Trip prize includes:
• round-trip coach (economy) class air transportation (flight carrier to be selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion) for two (2) from a major commercial airport in the U.S. closest to winner's residence (selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion)
• three (3) nights standard hotel accommodations for two [(2) person occupancy, includes one (1) room and tax] at the Fairmont Heritage Place in Ghirardelli Square
• ground transfers to/from the airport and hotel
• $1000 in spending money for winner only (awarded via check to the Grand Prize winner)
• Trip prize also includes: Becoming a Master Chocolatier experience in Ghirardelli Square; restaurant pairings package (dinner & dessert with Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate at top San Francisco restaurant selected by Sponsor); wine and chocolate pairing day at Sonoma wineries (participants must be 21 years of age. Ground transportation will be provided for the restaurant pairings package and the Sonoma wineries portion of the prize. (If Winner's guest is under 21 years of age, guest will not be able to participate in the wine and chocolate pairing day portion of the Prize and will not be compensated for that portion of the Prize.)

Total Approximate Retail Value ("ARV") of Grand Prize $6,358.00. Actual value depends on date/time/point of departure, and any difference between the stated ARV and actual value will not be awarded. Grand Prize Winner and guest are solely responsible for checked baggage fees, food and beverage (excluding those specifically included herein), gratuities, other incidental hotel expenses and other expenses not listed in these Official Rules. Grand Prize Winner and guest must depart from same location and must travel on the same itinerary and all travel arrangements must be made with Sponsor or Sponsor's agent at least 21 days in advance of travel. Travel subject to availability and must be completed on dates approved by Sponsor or Prize will be forfeited. Some restrictions and blackout dates may apply. Travel must be completed within 12 months of winner verification. No cancellation of reservation or transfer of reservation to another date after reservation has been made. If Grand Prize Winner's guest is a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, he/she must be accompanied by his/her parent or legal guardian. If Grand Prize Winner resides within a 100-mile radius of San Francisco, ground transportation may be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided for any difference in Prize value.

Instant Win Prizes:
One (1) First Prize: An assortment of Ghirardelli Chocolate for a year awarded as four (4) quarterly shipments of fourteen (14) pounds of chocolate per shipment: $1,000.00.

Three hundred (300) Second Prizes: Ghirardelli Pairing Kit: $25.00.

One thousand six hundred (1,600) Third Prizes: Voucher for one (1) bag or bar of Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolate: $4.00.

Limit one (1) Instant Win Prize per person during the Game Period. Approximate Total ARV of all available Prizes: $23,758.00.
