these "2 free tire" deals always suck, you have to get their "premium mounting" at the shops, buy a year of their protection crap and the tires have to be instock garbage.

I went to NTB last night to get a quote on the same deal and they wanted $780 after discount!!! Yes these were in a low profile 245/40/18 size but they were for SUMITOMOS!!! These were the only tires I was allowed to get. Horrible deal.

I was told the premium installation package costs $32.99 per tire and he wouldn't give me a separate price for the alignment. He didn't refuse to give it but when I asked he gave me this spiel about how JUST the 2 tires are free and everything else is still regular price

The premium instillation and alignment are deal killers. Wallys still installs tires for $10 a pop and alignments are not needed when getting new tires.

fixed your statement for you. I know it was probably implied when you wrote it but we might have some people reading this who have no idea about tires, ball joints, upper/lower control arms, proper camber, proper toe, etc. They know you put the gas in the back and the key by the steering "thingy"

Tires are mounted and balanced off the car, mounting and balancing a set of tires will not throw off an alignment, therefore, an alignment is not needed.

Anyway, I guess what I am saying is this promo is no good.

try to follow this, it's correct:
if one's car is in need of an alignment when tires are bought, then an alignment was needed when tires were bought (obviously laugh out loud), and since not *everyone* buys their tires within a few thousand miles of their last alignment, then there will be times when a car will be in need of an alignment when tires are being bought, therefore sometimes an alignment is needed when one buys tires. solid gold logic there, my friends! LMAO

what you are trying to say, and sort of do say (see highlighted section above) is buying tires won't ruin a car's alignment. yes, that is correct.

and yes, this promo sucks. the tire choices are lame, and the expenses far exceed the cost of two (lame) tires. this deal is for suckers only.

What is interesting is that I went to Firestone to get four new tires. I have a lifetime alignment subscription there. So they get the car done and had it back to me. I ask if they checked the alignment. They say no it did not need to be checked. Now every other time I have got tires where ever they insist on an alignment. I even had NTB refuse to warranty the tires unless I got their $75 alignment. Then when I brought the tires back 2 years later because the 50,000 mile tires lasted 30,000 miles, they refused to honor the mileage warranty because they made up the condition that I was to take it back to them every 6 months to get an alignment. Man, did I have something to say about that. With Firestone suddenly, since I have a free alignment service, I, surprise of surprises, do not need an alignment. Of course I made them put it back in, and it did need to be realigned. These places are a really joke. I live out here in the east where the roads are often rough and finding space at the curb to park is rough. Properly aligned tires will prevent uneven wear. You really should get your tires realigned periodically.
