Just got a promo card in the mail for $79.99 Verizon FiOS Triple Play (TV, Internet, Phone) 2-year price guarantee (with 2 year agreement) PLUS you get $300 Visa prepaid card.

Promo valid November 20-28.

You can add a line below if your Current triple play offer is different or better.
NY - $79.99 - Prime or Extreme HD w/ Showtime Bundle, 25/25 Internet, FIOS Digital Voice Unlimited, w/ Free Set top box, $300 Visa or Multi Room DVR Free w/ 2 Year Agreement, and $5/Off Monthly for "FIOS Ready Properties" (YMMV).

For those with existing FIOS Services, you may want to first call Verizon for the best offers available or sign in to MyVerizon and see what's the best bundle they are offering online. If you're out of contract, I suggest signing up as a new customer, perhaps under a family/roomate's name to get the full new offer.

Its $500 via Verizon Visa® Prepaid Card issued by MetaBank™ pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Use where Visa debit cards are accepted. Must have service for 60 days with no past-due balance. Card mailed within 90 days of install date. Other card terms and conditions apply.

BEST DEAL:
About a week ago I logged onto Verizon and went most of the way through the 5-step package selection process, but I canceled out at the end and didn't actually purchase it. Today I got an email from them with a promotional code saying: "Thanks for contacting us. Here's a discount coupon for you. Take $5 off your bundle for 24 months."
So I went ahead and signed up today (install date 12/7 – I can't wait!) and used the Promo Code from the email and it knocked the price down to $74.99/month, thus saving me $120 over the 2 year contract. Plus I have another code that will also get you an additional $50 Amex gift card.

My bottom line:
$74.99/month for 2 years
+ $300 Visa Gift Card
+ $50 Amex Gift Card
--------------------------------------
$60.40/month (after GC)

I finally got my $300 card from Verizon. Please note there is a $3.00 maintenance fee starting the 13th month so use the card before 1 year is up. Also, there is a $6.95 fee to replace the card so don't lose it and there is a 1% foreign transaction fee if the transaction is made outside the US. I recommend just applying your card to your Verizon account and have it give you a $300 credit. It will be used up in about 3-4 months that way depending on your monthly bill. This way you don't have to worry about it.

As for the person who received a card for more than $300, the paperwork says:

Please note that the total card value may be higher than your Verizon Visa Prepaid Card offer to off-set taxes and fees included with your original order.

I got in on the $84 deal a month or so ago by signing up in my husband's name and scheduling our existing service (in my name) to be cancelled. Verizon set my new install date for 7/5 (this Thurs) and my existing service will be cancelled same day.

In the check out screen with Verizon it said my home qualifies for "self installation". I have no idea what that will entail, but they sent me all new equipment and I'll have to return all of my existing equipment. I have a few questions, am really hoping someone here can help before the switchover this Thurs.

1) How do I keep my existing home number? Is it too late to port my existing number (since tomorrow is a holiday and service will be disconnected Thurs)? If I can still port, is the best way to buy a prepaid cell phone and port my home no to that line? I have no idea what to do here but am starting to wonder what the f' I was thinking agreeing to cancel existing service without porting number.

2) Can I somehow keep my existing equipment and activate that for the new service, or do I really need to self-install all the new equipment, thereby losing all of my current DVR recordings and probably wasting half a day to do it?

Again, not sure what the f' I was thinking on this. Thanks in advance for any input.

In the shoulda woulda coulda world, what you should've done is not cancel the existing service until AFTER the new service install. The porting of the number the next day or so will in effect cancel your old service, then there's just some bookkeeping work to do.

But since that ship has sailed, I think it's a good course of action to port your number to an old cell phone that you have lying around onto one of the resellers. ie. if you have an old verizon cell phone laying around, just activate it on page plus, they don't even charge for this, and they'll give you $2 to get through the activation process, but that's enough to hold the number for a day or three... then port that number back to your new verizon service.

If you don't have a verizon cell phone, then you can go with one of the other services that leases from that network.

As for keeping your old DVR, I think it will totally depend on which customer service rep you get. Most will probably tell you it's impossible to do, but you may find one who will work the system to get you what you want.

Good luck!!

Thanks so much for the input.

I checked out Page Plus and found an old Verizon phone to activate. I'm about to put my activation & port request in at Page Plus, but wondered - it says a port from a landline can take 5-10 business days. Since my Fios service is being disconnected Thurs am, can the port still happen even though my service will have been disconnected by the time my port request hits Verizon? Thanks again for the input.

normally I would say call in to customer service and speak to a rep, they can tell you how long it will really take, but being a holiday, I'm not sure anyone would answer, but you could try that... I'm not sure you have many other options at this point... but if anyone else knows, please chime in...

I think when I did it from a cell phone to a cell phone they said it can take 48 hours, but It happened in 3.

I submitted an activation request at Page Plus last night but it was rejected due to an error, so I called first thing this morning. Because my FIOS was already disconnected (got disconnected very early), Page Plus couldn't port the number. They said the number had to still be active to be ported.

I then began my FIOS self-install on the router and set top boxes. I couldn't get internet connectivity after trying everything, so called Verizon and sat on hold 40 mins waiting for tech support to answer. Finally got a woman who tried to reset my system several times to no avail. She scheduled a tech visit for next Monday. As we were about to hang up she remembered I said this was a self-install, so she connected me to the self-installation tech support dept. That guy tried a reset several times without success, finally called in a higher level tech support person who instantly was able to do the correct reset. All problems solved. It took about 2 hours in total, which was really frustrating since it was completely due to a screw up on their end. Had they activated it correctly, the self-install would have taken about 15 mins since it just involves swapping out the old STBs and router for new ones.

I then got transferred to the standard Verizon help desk to see about porting my old, disconnected number. The rep was able to put it into the system and assured me it will be active again tomorrow.

I apologize for the long post, but figured it might be helpful for anyone who wants to keep their old landline number and/or has to do a self-install. The bottom line is that the self-install is really easy provided Vzn doesn't screw things up on their end, and it's possible to re-activate and port a disconnected number, though it's probably safer to set up the port before having the service disconnected since I may have just gotten lucky on that point.

I am an existing FIOS customer and would love the link mentioned earlier (if it's different than just going to the site and acting as a new registrant) to sign up for a new bundle (either double or triple play).
My contract has been up for a while....time to get a better deal!
Right now as an existing customer, I'm only getting the upgrade to "50/25, FIOS TV Extreme and Freedom Essentials for $119/month (which includes a $120 Visa GC)" option.

Thanks for the PM and the info. I tried to reply back, but apparently I don't know what I'm doing....lol....it doesn't show up in my "sent". In any case, it didn't quite work out for me - price actually increased by $10 when I used the link (since the new customer info isn't attached to my Verizon wireless account and "one-billed").

Not sure what the issue is....eh. Frown

I did find another link in one of these threads...maybe this one....(link not associated w/ promotions) and it sent me directly to the Freedom Essentials, 35/35 internet and Ultimate TV plan - gave me a price of $114 w/ a $400 GC. Will probably move on that one. We shall see.

That doesn't sound right... every link I tried from the first 10 pages took me to the same offer. The base price seems to be 94.99 for prime tv w/showtime, 15/5 internet and digital voice.

I think freedom essentials is the analog phone service, but I don't see how that can account for that huge a price difference.

Verizon chat reps say the service address is what dictates the prices, so I'm not sure why you are seeing two different prices, but definitely score the best you can get!
