Just got a promo card in the mail for $79.99 Verizon FiOS Triple Play (TV, Internet, Phone) 2-year price guarantee (with 2 year agreement) PLUS you get $300 Visa prepaid card.

Promo valid November 20-28.

Go to verizon.com/holiday [verizon.com] and check the options.

I am seriously considering ditching Comcast and getting on this FiOS deal.

Update: I uploaded scans of the promo
in Home & Home Improvement Verizon Home Internet

STILL LIVE http://www22.verizon.com/
Now it's $94.99 for the FIOS Triple Play (Prime TV w/ Showtime, 15/5 Internet & FIOS Voice) + Get a $200 or to get $400 VISA Card, Order Extreme TV & 50/25 Internet or Higher OR Free Multi Room DVR For 12 or 18 Months w/ 2 Year Agreement.

EXPIRED OFFERS:
In PA, I do not get 25/25 for $79.99 triple play bundle. Please see the attached screenshot. May be in other states, they are offering 25/25.
http://i.minus.com/ibtHDOZwPQGuhf.png

You can add a line below if your Current triple play offer is different or better.
NY - $79.99 - Prime or Extreme HD w/ Showtime Bundle, 25/25 Internet, FIOS Digital Voice Unlimited, w/ Free Set top box, $300 Visa or Multi Room DVR Free w/ 2 Year Agreement, and $5/Off Monthly for "FIOS Ready Properties" (YMMV).
$89.99 - Extreme HD, 35/35 Internet & FIOS Voice, you can get the $500 Visa Gift Card w/ 2 Year Agreement.
$89.99 - Prime HD, 50/20 Internet & FIOS Voice + $300 or $500 with 2Yr contract
PA - $79.99 - Prime HD, 15/5, Freedom Essential Phone. No Free STB and no $5 worked on new customer.
DE - $79.99 triple play bundle, $5/month off. Bundle promotion expiring on 1/7 though
MD - $79.99 triple play bundle (Prime, 15/5, FiOS Digital Voice), $5/month off, $50 AMEX Reward Card (with code), $300 VISA; other combinations available

For those with existing FIOS Services, you may want to first call Verizon for the best offers available or sign in to MyVerizon and see what's the best bundle they are offering online. If you're out of contract, I suggest signing up as a new customer, perhaps under a family/roomate's name to get the full new offer.

Its $500 via Verizon Visa® Prepaid Card issued by MetaBank™ pursuant to a license from Visa U.S.A. Inc. Use where Visa debit cards are accepted. Must have service for 60 days with no past-due balance. Card mailed within 90 days of install date. Other card terms and conditions apply.

BEST DEAL:
About a week ago I logged onto Verizon and went most of the way through the 5-step package selection process, but I canceled out at the end and didn't actually purchase it. Today I got an email from them with a promotional code saying: "Thanks for contacting us. Here's a discount coupon for you. Take $5 off your bundle for 24 months."
So I went ahead and signed up today (install date 12/7 – I can't wait!) and used the Promo Code from the email and it knocked the price down to $74.99/month, thus saving me $120 over the 2 year contract. Plus I have another code that will also get you an additional $50 Amex gift card.

My bottom line:
$74.99/month for 2 years
+ $300 Visa Gift Card
+ $50 Amex Gift Card
--------------------------------------
$60.40/month (after GC)

I finally got my $300 card from Verizon. Please note there is a $3.00 maintenance fee starting the 13th month so use the card before 1 year is up. Also, there is a $6.95 fee to replace the card so don't lose it and there is a 1% foreign transaction fee if the transaction is made outside the US. I recommend just applying your card to your Verizon account and have it give you a $300 credit. It will be used up in about 3-4 months that way depending on your monthly bill. This way you don't have to worry about it.

As for the person who received a card for more than $300, the paperwork says:

Please note that the total card value may be higher than your Verizon Visa Prepaid Card offer to off-set taxes and fees included with your original order.

No problem.

Every cable box and DVR from the provider has them inside, you can actually see it through the ventilation holes in the box.

Some give CableCards for free (Comcast), some charge $2.50/month (Time Warner), some give you credit for bringing your own equipment (Cox?) and some charge $3.99/month (Verizon).

You can decrypt 6 streams simultaneously with a single CableCard and redistribute the decrypted content through your home network to other TV's using Media Center Extenders, or XBOX360 (not PS3, not Wii).

You can start at www.thegreenbutton.tv a community for the people and by the people fed up with paying rental fees for cableboxes.

Also, any thread on SD about Ceton, Hauppauge or SiliconDust will have enough information to point you in the right direction.

I've been out of contract for a long time, and I'm thinking I should also cancel my existing service and sign up for new service. My biggest concern is porting over my phone number from the old service to the new service. Would someone mind PM-ing me with some tips on doing that properly? Smilie

Thanks!

I had fios triple play with prime tv and 15/5 internet at 74.99/mo for 2 years w/o a contract. Now that the price guarantee is up, my rate went up $35/mo. I have just ONE HD DVR, I don't care about the phone, and i just want the same service with a total cost of just around $100/mo including fees (currently it's 103/mo)

I called to ask about what they could do for me and the best they offered after going back and forth was $10/off their current rate for existing customers. Or, they could drop my phone service, and then my rate would only go up by $15/mo.

I was mad and told them that they should offer the same deals to their existing customers as they have for new customers and they said they could not. So I told them to make me a non-existing customer, and they didn't flinch and tried to disconnect me. I told them to put in the order for 1 month out and they said they can only do 2 weeks. So I said I'd call back. WTH?

Can anyone help in getting a better deal for an existing customer? Likewise, how long would I have to be disconnected to become a new customer again? 6 mo? 1 mo??

As said earlier in the thread, if you have a spouse or roommate, all you have to do is have them sign up in their name WITHOUT cancelling your existing service. Once the new service is installed, you can then PORT over your old number, and after that is done (24-48 hours) you can cancel your old service. And since it's a new customer, they qualify for all the current promotions currently being offered. $400 GC or Free DVR for either 12 months, 18 months, or life depending on your region.

The downside for you is that I believe the best current deal for Triple Play is 99.99 until we find a $5 off code for august... I'll look to see if I can find it... and PM you the code.

If you have no spouse or roommate, I suggest watching less TV and getting on the stick!!! Spouses are useful for Slick Deals in many ways... hug

Thanks-- I thought the double play deal was lower than 99.99 though-- or was that not an offer.

I have a roommate who rents one of my rooms, but I don't think he should be the one on the contract in case he moves out Smilie Not sure if my gf's credit is good enough to get a contract-- how picky are they?

They want your money... methinks they won't be too picky... I don't know if they even run a credit check...

At this point of time, all I see in FIOS deals in my area (Jersey City) for a double play package (Prime HD w/ Showtime and 15/5 internet) is $79.99 with activation/installation waived and no-contract. Are there other deals available that aren't really public-domain offers? I'm tired of Comcast's unwillingness to reduce rates for long-standing customers.

Is there any way to get a lower price than that or should I just go ahead and order?

Well, there are a couple of things... right now if you choose the triple play for just $5 more, I believe you are eligible for a $400 visa card with a 2 year contract. So spend $120 and get $400, then drop the phone after 2 years if you don't want it...

EDIT - Wait, I see the prices actually increase when you select a 2 year commitment from 84 to 94... not sure why they'd do that...

I believe the other discounts that were going around for $5 off a month have now expired, but it looks like they lowered the prices by $10 so you'll make out better there as well.

Yup, their prices go up from 85 to 95 with the triple play selection, and I still don't see any reference to the gift card (promotion might have expired).

Looks like the best thing is to take the $50 rewards (thank you guys for the multiple PMs!) and order service.

Damnit, too late to jump on the bandwagon. I was seriously considering switching over to FiOS from Cablevision now that they've dropped the New York CW affiliate, WPIX, from their line up. (Was looking forward to Arrow in the fall).

Anyone think the sweet $80/mo triple play plus $400 GC offer will return soon?
