if you are attempting to purchase a warranty for a television. consider buying one through Costco. Their prices end up around the same amount as a warranty purchases directly through ST with a 30% off code.

evel if you are not a costco member, you can still purchase the warranty though them, though they will charge a 10% non member fee

HOWEVER, if you purchase one through costco you are ultimately getting a better deal because ST's warranty period doesn't begin to run until after the manufacturer warranty has finished.

this means if you purchase a 3 year warranty you are effectively being covered for 4 years. if bought directly from ST then you will only be covered for 3 as the warranty period will overlap the manufacturers.

LAPTOP:

for laptops over $800, you should consider checking out St warranties through amazon

they are already discounted and the price points are divided differently i.e. 700-800 as opposed to the ST website who only offers a plan for 700-999. you will be able to get a more tailored price for your laptop.
