FINALLY, Samsung is offering a Class Action Settlement on a defective capacitor in some TV's. I am sure lots of people in SD community have bought these early LCD/Plasma/DLP model HDTV's from Samsung around 2008. I had "ln52a650a1f" LCD HDTV that died right after 2 year warranty expired. I called Samsung and argued with manger and ended up cussing at him because they wouldn't acknowledge the problem or give any sort of reimbursement. After doing some research, I found out that lots of people are having same problem with Samsung TVs bought around 2008 and the cause was a faulty capacitor bought from Chingmai electronics (basically means Chinese junk

) that's inside these model TV's.
My problem was getting ghost images, dark multiple images that would clear after TV warmed up for 30-45 minutes but it was a pain the "you know where". So, last month I ended up buying LG 3D TV that I absolutely love and vowed to never buy Samsung again

Here is the link that you need to check your model and take appropriate action:

NO SAMSUNG TV's for me again.

I just stumbled on this thread in researching my tv model for complaints.
Can I do anything at this point?
I have a LN-T4069F that won't completely power up. I know I'm too late for the $300 settlement, but do they still come out and replace the board with the faulty capacitors or am I too late?
TIA!

So I have a paper trail with Samsung documenting the issue which is definitely helpful in settling the CAL.
Anyone still receive no response yet ? i am getting anxious that they are waiting to the deadline to deny claims so there is no turnaround time

These days TV's are disposable. They certainly don't make them like they used to. I bought a CRT back in 2002 and it works perfect and will probably last another 20 years. My best friends' in laws still have their tv from the 1970's, the kind with the wood paneling that sits on the floor. I bought a plasma last year knowing that I might have to replace it within 5 years.
I got my denial email too. They first said no transaction ID. So I emailed back with my ID even though I wrote it on the paper everywhere when I file. They came back and said the ID does not say anything except I donated my TV. What an idot! If I donate my TV, why I should call you guys to let you know?! Then they said I filed on March 2 and it needs to be prior to March 2. So denial.
