Yes you probably can, but you will have to call tracfone after the old number transfers and you phone stops working. When you call, ask Tracfone for a new SIM card to "activate an old phone". The SIM card should be free, and will take ~5 days to get to you.

wish there was a data provider that worked like tracfone. I'd pay like $10 per GB for data even if it was 3g as long as I don't have to go month to month.

I bought my last two tracfone from HSN and the deals are better. I transferred the leftover airtime from the old phone to the new phone without any problem.

Best deal for the year of service, I believe, is still the 49.xx that is offered if you buy any minutes on their site. It shows up at the bottom of the order page. Or at least did last time I bought minutes.
