Let me know if this helped you or not, thanks Smilie

Free Upgrade from LR 3 To LR 4:

Anyone who got LR try to get your free upgrade by talking to a sales rep at Adobe? Looks like it just got released today.

Here is the student/teacher version:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...105977-L0G

Rep if this helped you, thanks.

Quote from cobains :
Got in on the Lightroom 3 deal and just called in and was able to get my free Lightroom 4 Upgrade. Took some time and explaining though -

First called into sales who transferred me over to customer support. He asked for my serial number and confirmed my LR3 purchase and went to speak with a manager who said it wasn't valid on the student/teacher edition.

I told him I was looking at the policy on the website right now and read him the first line where it clearly states it is valid on educational software. He then said hold on and brought up the same policy and read it to me - went and talked to his "manager" again and gave me the deal.

Good thing is it looks like it's the non-academic version (doesn't student/teacher say on my order). Either way, it's a free upgrade for those who were able to score LR3 at this price.

Here is the link to Adobe's policy:

"How do I find out if I'm eligible for a complimentary upgrade?
You might be eligible for a complimentary upgrade if you bought your software product (full or upgrade) soon after a new version was announced. To find out if your purchase falls in the eligibility period, contact Adobe to chat with an agent (English only). For other languages, select an option from the Need A Different Country Or Region menu.

Adobe doesn't notify customers who purchased single-user licenses about complimentary post-announce upgrades. Volume license customers receive an email with instructions for claiming their complimentary post-announce upgrades.

What are the requirements for a complimentary upgrade?
•You must have a single-user retail, volume license, or educational version of an Adobe software product. Not sure if you have a single-user product? See Determine what type of software license you have.

The following Adobe products don't qualify for complimentary upgrades:
•Products purchased through the Mac App Store
•Products purchased through auction sites (such as eBay)
•Second-hand purchases, including software received through a transfer of license
•Tutorial DVDs, trials, tryouts, betas, Not For Retail (NFR), and bundled OEM versions

•You must have registered your current serial number. If you register within your product, you can receive the complimentary benefits of Product Registration. For details, see Product Registration Options.
•You must have your order number if you purchased from Adobe. If you purchased from a reseller, it's necessary to provide proof of purchase. See proof of purchase qualifications.
•This offer is available only through Adobe directly and cannot be used with any other offers.
I meet the requirements. How do I place my order?
If you meet the requirements described above, follow these steps to order:

1.Go to the Customer Support Portal at one of the following locations:
•North America
•UK
•France
•Germany
•Asia/Pacific
2.Create an account or sign in to your existing account.
3.In the Submit a Post-Announce Upgrade Request page, fill in the required fields.
4.Click Review Case & Submit."

I finally received order shipping information. Ordered online, everything verified through Identit-E, no contacts were made to either Adobe (Twitter) or Identit-E. Looks like they're just really slammed but will eventually get all orders out. -- Rootaxs.

Order Updates: Some users reporting shipped or serials received status with the help of Twitter team @Adobe_Care. (This is not the only method, however, as some continue to get their serials through normal channels.)

DEAL IS DEAD

NOT EXPIRED. STILL WORKS. According to Cnet [cnet.com], it expires March 3rd.

DEAD. Website no longer accepts code. Adobe CSR says it was an error and they meant to offer an extra 15% off of the already 80% reduced price (from retail). Feb 23 1pm EST. CSR said she believed they are fulfilling orders that were placed before the code was pulled.

If you see an error message after you submitted your order, check the ORDER STATUS page.

An .edu account is NOT ENOUGH to get your activation code. PLEASE read the requirements before ordering. <-- This was incorrect. .edu account worked just fine without any other documentation.

* If you call - you can get Lightroom 3 for $17. It doesn't seem to be working for online ordering. I placed my order over the phone for LR and one of the Suites - and it worked fine.
Customer service states that they are no longer accepting this discount for PHONE orders. This deal is now ONLINE ONLY.

FOR THIS TO WORK:

1. You need a .edu address or other form of ID associating you with a school system or university.

Proof of eligibility

Definition of Qualified Purchasers in the Student/Teacher Store:

University and college students - students enrolled at a higher education institution defined as an accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two years of full-time study.
Primary and secondary school students - students enrolled at an accredited public or private primary or secondary school providing full-time instruction.
Faculty and staff - teachers and staff employed by an accredited primary or secondary school or public or higher education institution defined as an accredited public or private university or college (including community, junior, or vocational college) that grants degrees requiring not less than the equivalent of two years of full-time study.
You will need to provide a valid copy of academic identification in order to purchase from the Adobe Student/Teacher Store. Identification can be sent online or by email. You will receive your products only after your identification is validated.

Get full details on eligibility for all Adobe education discounts for students, teachers, staff, and institutions.

For more information on education purchasing and academic validation procedures, read the Education Store FAQ.

Note: Tax-exempt purchases cannot be made through the Adobe Education Store. Tax Exempt can be made on the Adobe Educational Licensing Store.

In case anyone is wondering when "When Will Adobe Creative Suite 6 be Out, including Photoshop CS6?"
http://prodesigntools.com/when-adobe-cs6-available-including-photoshop-cs6.html

"So reading between the lines here – if milestone (new major number) releases will be every two years, and if every 12 months there will be a new version of Creative Suite coming out, then taking the CS5.5 launch date of May 2011 and adding twelve months would give an expected CS6 shipping date in the May 2012 timeframe."

The email is much easier. Though, their two-step process of getting the serial number makes it hard to flip this on Ebay.

You have to manually type it... If you paste it doesn't work.
