I thought I was all badass until today when I realized that my dad wouldn't have done a single bit of research on what kind of bees they were. He wouldn't have cared. He wouldn't have psyched himself up and gone out to get tyvec suits and duck tape. My dad would have gone out there with a cup of black coffee and a lecture. Then he'd burn the tree down, and he would have done it all before breakfast.
The constitutions of most of our States and of the United States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; that it is their right and duty to be at all times armed; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press. -Thomas Jefferson, June 5, 1824

I figured I'd go ahead and post this here instead of starting a new thread. That way the discussion can be ongoing about my paranoia and conspiracy theories.
My bride was out of town the weekend which means that I had all four kids. DS1 is 11 and usually gets up by himself around 6am. He and the other two boys (3 and 2) sleep upstairs. The master and the 4th bedroom are on the main level with my bride and I in the master and my daughter (also 3) in the other bedroom which is next to ours. At 5:04am on Sunday morning, I woke to someone walking down stairs and noticed a light coming in our room. This is because we enter our room through an office, and the office door is glass paned. I jumped out of bed, grabbed a personal defense device and went to the archway where I could see more of what was going on through the door. After not seeing or hearing anything else I looked at the clock, saw the time, and figured my oldest son had gotten up earlier than normal. I went to the restroom, came out, noticed the light was now off, thought nothing of it, and went back to bed. I didn't say anything or bring it up until the Queen got home that night, and I was recapping the days with the kids. I included that the oldest was so good and such a help that he got an early start on the day by getting up at 5am. Then he told me he wasn't up until 7am. ![]() So that leaves the question of who was walking around and turned a light on? Nothing was taken. The chain lock was not locked in the morning, but I did lock it before going to bed. It wouldn't take long to find our spare key which was hidden in the grill, and I have since removed it.

Here's [letargets.com] some more tinfoil to add to the dome:
Law Enforcement Targets, Inc. is selling these under their "No More Hesitation" line of targets to help police officers get over shooting people that don't look like every day criminals. Here are their targets: ![]() |
