It knocks your score down and depending on your current score it could mean 1/8 or 1/4 of a percent higher, which if you amortize it, depending on your loan size, could be in the thousands you'd be losing versus making $300 here and losing thousands due to a small decrease in your credit score. I only know of one score that was disclosed to me and that threshold is 740, if you get 739, it could cost you 1/4 point. and opening a cc could bring your score down by as much as 30 points (this happened to me, but I opened like 2 cards). Also, in refinancing or financing a house, they take the lowest score, this is from my experience also, maybe different lenders are different, not sure, just basing on my experience. If your score is like 800, then you have nothing to worry about.
If you are in the process of buying a home, DO NOT, and I mean, DO NOT apply for any additional credit until after you close. Banks check your credit just before the closing date to make sure you have not overextended your credit after approval.
When have people been getting the bonus points credited?
When I activated the card, I pushed back my statement date a few weeks. Finally closed for the first time on Monday (over $500). Got my "normal" rewards points, but no bonus points (yet).

I didn't know this, I am in the middle of a refinance and we will see if they recheck my credit or are you saying only for home purchases? I would think they are the same. I haven't closed yet, but I've closed some credit cards and usually closing a credit card can cause your credit to change. In fact, I'm certain it does, coz when I call to close, they told me so and they will contact the credit companies. We'll see.
I asked this same question in the $350 thread but didn't get any response; how soon after approval is everyone receiving their card? Just wondering because amazon has a deal on something i wanna get but am waiting for the card to show up so I can purchase it.
Got the 30K points on my first monthly statement. Spent $1,200 the first month on dental work for the kid that I would have spent anyway.
Question ... can I apply the 30,000 points ($300) as a credit against my balance vice getting the check sent to me?
Did you received the points automatically or you asked and called the CSR of chase for the 30k points? Because I saw on $350 cashback forum that the promo was not legitimate..Thanks!

that's just what people got back as an email reply when they tried to get that extra $50 in points from the $300 they got recently
some people had luck calling in and speaking to some higher ups and got the points fine
it doesn't make sense that its not "legitimate" as its on their own site
I signed up for a regular $200 offer, got my card, and received it in the mail yesterday. Anyone know if it is possible to get $300 instead?
I don't think it's possible nor do I think the offer is still valid. If you click on the first link in the OP, you get an error message of Offer Unavailable. The second link brings you to a page in which the $200 offer is still live.
I am in the same position as you. I signed up for the card a week or so ago with the $200 offer, and then recently saw this new offer. I called up Chase last night asking about this new offer and asked if I could get the $300 (or $350, forget which is the deal exactly). The woman from chase said she would have to check, so she put me on hold and then immediately seemed pretty defensive about the whole thing. She mentioned it was only a "limited-time" offer and I wasn't qualified for the new offer, just the $200 bonus. I asked why that was the case and she didn't really give me a clear explanation.
Either way, that was my experience, but maybe yours would be different. I'd say give the customer service number a ring on the back of the card and see what they have to say.
I was a former Chase Marathon cardholder. In September of 2011, Marathon severed ties with Chase and they switched my card to the Freedom. I just got off the phone with Chase letting them know that it wasn't fair that I didn't have a chance to apply for this offer. Within 5 minutes, she had the request submitted to add the 30,000 points to my account. It's worth a try for anyone out there that had this happen to them.

Does anyone know?
but does the email that chase send after getting approved contain any information about the $ back after $500 spent?
since mine for the $350 didn't say anything about it
