The Contest: This Chick-fil-A 5 Million Fans Trivia Contest ("Contest") begins at 12:00:01 AM Eastern Time on April 9, 2012 and shall end at 11:59:59 PM Eastern Time on April 13, 2012 ("Contest Period"). From all eligible entries received in connection with the Contest, up to two thousand five hundred (2500) winners will be determined, as set forth in paragraph 5 below, based on the Contest participants’ ability to apply his/her knowledge in order to correctly and quickly answer various trivia questions concerning Chick-fil-A. Participation in the Contest is described, regulated and clarified by, and wholly subject to, the provisions of these official rules (the "Official Rules").
Sponsor: The Contest shall be administered and sponsored by Chick-fil-A, Inc. ("Sponsor").
Eligibility: The Contest is open only to (a) individuals legally residing, for purposes of all applicable state and federal tax laws, in one of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia (the "Eligibility Area"); and (b) who are thirteen (13) years of age or older as of the start of the Contest Period. Directors, officers and employees of Sponsor ("Sponsor"), CFA Properties, Inc., and any Chick fil-A, Dwarf House®;, and Truett’s Grill®; restaurants, and each of their respective operators, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotional agencies, and all other entities or individuals associated with the development, administration, or fulfillment of this Contest, if any (collectively, the "Contest Entities"), and the immediate families of such persons (defined as spouse, child, sibling, parent or grandparent or so-called "step" or "half’ variations of any of the preceding individuals), and those living in their same households, are ineligible to enter, win or collect prizes in the Contest. Any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents will void all entries made by, or associated with, the applicable entrant. Only individuals meeting all eligibility requirements set forth in these Official Rules may participate in the Contest or win a prize ("Entrant"). The Contest is VOID outside of the Eligibility Area and where otherwise prohibited or restricted.
How to Enter: To participate in the Contest, find the "Are You A True Fan" feature ("Feature") on the Chick-fil-A 5 Million Fan Celebration Facebook page located at facebook.com/chickfila (a "Site") and follow the entry instructions and answer the trivia questions provided in the trivia section on the Site to enter (collectively, the "Entry"). Each Entrant will be required to "Like" the Chick-fil-A Facebook page. Limit one (1) Entry per person and/or Facebook account per calendar day. Any Entrant who attempts to participate with multiple Facebook accounts, under multiple identities or uses any device or artifice to enter multiple times in violation of applicable entry limitations may be disqualified by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Any use of robotic, repetitive, automatic, programmed or similar entry methods or agents will void all entries made by, or associated with, the applicable Entrant. In the event of a dispute over who submitted any Entry, the authorized user of the Facebook account provided in connection with the Entry, as of the actual time that such Entry was received by Sponsor, will be deemed to be the Entrant. The "authorized user" is defined as the natural person who is assigned the applicable Facebook account by Facebook. Each Entrant is required to indicate his/her acceptance to the Official Rules where indicated; provided, however, that any Entrant’s participation in the Contest constitutes and is deemed such Entrant’s full and unconditional agreement to the Official Rules and any and all decisions of Sponsor and any third-party judges, which are final and binding in all respects. Entrant agrees to waive any right to claim ambiguity in the Contest and/or these Official Rules. This Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook. All information submitted by entrants in connection with this Contest is being submitted to Sponsor, not Facebook. To the extent of any conflict between these Official Rules and Facebook terms, guidelines or policies, these Official Rules will apply.
Contest Structure and How to Win: THIS CONTEST IS DEVISED AS A SKILL AND KNOWLEDGE-BASED CONTEST. The Contest will consist of exactly five (5) trivia questions ("Contest Questions"), which Contest Questions will each be accompanied by three (3) possible answers ("Answers"). Contest Questions will be randomly posted to the Contest portion of the Site during the Contest Period. The Contest objective is to select the correct Answer to the Contest Questions in a fashion that is fastest in time relative to all of the other participating Members. To participate, visit the Site to view the Contest Questions, and submit the Answer to each Contest Question by (i) selecting and clicking on one (1) Answer; and (ii) submitting the Answer by clicking on the Submit Answer button in the shortest possible time. No Answer can be edited or changed after the Submit Answer button has been clicked. The correct Answers will be provided after Entrant submits the Answer to the last Contest Question. The first (1st) five hundred (500) eligible Entrants (in time), if any, to submit the correct Answers to all five (5) Contest Questions will be the "Contest Winners" for the applicable day.
Prizes: Up to five hundred (500) Chick-fil-A plush cows (each, a "Prize") will be awarded each calendar day during the Contest Period. Approximate retail value of the Prize is $1.85. The odds of winning the Prize depends on the number eligible entries received. Each Prize winner will be required to provide his or her name, email address, and mailing address. Each Prize winner will also be asked to consent to receive promotional emails from Sponsor, its promotion partners, affiliates and/or authorized agents; however, consenting to receive such promotional emails is optional and refusal to consent will not render any entrant ineligible to win any prize. The Prize winner will be notified by telephone, mail or electronic mail, as determined by Sponsor. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for delivery of any prize. Prize winner (or his/her parent or guardian, as applicable) may be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and release of publicity/liability ("Affidavit") (where legal) within seven (7) days. If any mail is returned as undeliverable without a forwarding address, a potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of the first attempt to contact him/her, or if he/she fails to return the signed Affidavit within seven (7) days, or if the potential Prize winner is deemed ineligible for any other reason in Sponsor’s sole discretion, the potential Prize winner will be disqualified and an alternate Prize winner will be selected based upon Sponsor’s records relating to the timing of the Entries received. No more than the advertised number of prizes will be awarded.
General: Entrants assume all risk of loss, damage, destruction, delay or misdirection of materials/mail/email submitted to Sponsor. By submitting an Entry, Entrants agree to these Official Rules and to all decisions of Sponsor, or its designated agent, which are final and legally binding in all respects, and further agree that all prizes are awarded upon the condition that the Contest Entities and each of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, officers, directors, principals, employees or agents shall have no liability whatsoever and shall be held harmless for any injuries, losses, or damages of any kind to persons or property, including death, sustained, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, in connection with or resulting from acceptance, possession or use/misuse of any prize, or participation in this Contest and further acknowledge that said parties have neither made, nor are in any manner responsible or liable for, any warranty, representation or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relative to any prize, including but not limited to its merchantability, quality, mechanical condition or fitness for a particular purpose. Sponsor reserves the right, in its sole discretion, without prior notice and at any time, to cancel, terminate or suspend this Contest, or any portion thereof, should virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes beyond the control of Sponsor corrupt or impair the administration, integrity or security of the Contest (including but not limited to attempts to hack into or otherwise tamper with underlying source code/programming of the Contest). The laws of the State of Georgia shall exclusively govern the Contest. By accepting prizes, winners agree that Sponsor may use each winner’s name, likeness, photograph and/or biographical information, without limitation, for promotional purposes without further consideration or payment, where permitted by law. Taxes on and in connection with all prizes are the sole responsibility of each winner. Prizes are not transferable. No prize, cash or other substitutions allowed except at Sponsor’s sole discretion or as otherwise provided herein. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if an advertised prize becomes unavailable. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any term of these Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. Should any provision of these Official Rules be deemed unenforceable or invalid, the other provisions of these Official Rules shall remain in full force and effect. In the event that this Sweepstakes is challenged by any legal or regulatory authority (including but not limited to any federal or state governmental authority), Sponsor reserves the right to discontinue or modify the Sweepstakes, as applicable, or to disqualify any entrants residing in any affected geographic areas, as applicable. In such event, Sponsor shall have no liability to any Entrants who are disqualified due to such an action.
Privacy. Sponsor will collect, use, and protect personal data in accordance with Sponsor’s privacy policy, available for review at www.chick-fil-a.com/Legal/Privacy. In the event of any discrepancy between Sponsor’s privacy policy and these Official Rules, the privacy policy will govern and control.
Request for Name Prize Winner and Official Rules: For a list of the Prize winners, and/or Official Rules, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to Sponsor at: Chick-fil-A, 5 Million Fans Trivia Contest, 5200 Buffington Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30349. (Residents of Vermont may omit postage). Only the first name and first initial of the last name of Winners will be provided.
