I bought this for $299 on 6/8/12 and had it shipped to store to save shipping. I picked it up a week later and when I looked for instructions I saw it had dropped to $269. I called for a price adjustment and the guy 'gave' it to me because it was 9 days after purchase. Dare I try to get more?
buy at new price -> return brand new one with your original receipt.

so whats the total cost of water every time u have to fill it up?
that would vary based on how much water cost in your area.
multiply the rate/gallon you pay from your provider by the amount of water you need to fill up the pool.
"I saw a commercial for an above-ground pool. It was 30 seconds long. You know why? Because that's the maximum amount of time you can depict yourself having fun in an above-ground pool. If it was 31 seconds, the actor would say, "What the fark am I supposed to do now? The water's only up to here. What should I do? Throw the ball back to Jimmy? Or put some goggles on and look at his feet? I can't even drown my kneecaps!"
I have the 10 ft 30 inch version of this pool and LOVE it. Love it to pieces. the filter isn't very strong, but I just let it run and rotate the filter cartridges in and out.. spray them off after over my plants (waters them, cleans that) Add a tablesppon of chlorine granules each day, algaecide each sunday, and I put a little solar cover on it- it goes down to 78 over night, but it is up around 88 by lunchtime the next day. If you are not PERFECTLY level these are great.. the easy set you HAVE to be level. I paid 100 bucks for the pool I bought and if it broke tmrw I'd buy another.... my 5 year old loves it on days when we can't make it over to gmas to swim in the big pool. THX for posting this deal OP.. I dont' need one but i'm damn tempted!
I'm using a saltwater system so I can't drain it into my yard after either.... we are going to run a hose out to the street and drain it into the road - probably 1/3 at a time.
I have a 30' permanent above ground pool and have one of these. It works great. BUT, I have 1-1/2 hp pump with a sand filter. I would be surprised if it worked with those little Intex cartridge filters and small pumps. They hook into the skimmer basket and the water suction is what makes it go. I don't know that those would have enough suction to keep it going -- but I can't say for sure that they wouldn't either. But I doubt it.

Good point.
Wonder if anyone has experience with the Aquabot robotic vacuums. Seems like I might be better off spending about $30 more to get a new heavy-duty pump with sand filter and that Hayward? Sounds like that combo would mean very little cleaning required for an 18 footer, right?

A decent pump with a sand filter plus proper chlorination will keep the water sparkling. There will always be stuff - leaves, dead flies, dirt -- that settles on the bottom and needs vacuumed out though.
Best price I have found this year is 12.5% chlorine, four 1 gallon jugs per box @ $9.99 at Fleet Farm. (I use only liquid chlorine. Will NOT use powder or tabs. Ever.)

That's what I did.
