Thanks & repped to the OP! That wooden bed frame & dresser/drawer set is exactly the bedroom set style I've been eying for a while now. I liked IKEA when I lived in NY for a semester or two for schooling. Unfortunately, no IKEA near my current residence. Hopefully, I'll be able to find a bedroom set at a good price when I move again. Just a note that while this is not particle board, it is soft pine that will dent/scratch very easily. I have a full Hemnes living room set (TV stand with shelves and overhead, coffee table, and end tables) and the coffee table is taking a beating after only owning it 2 months with our 2 year old rolling his Matchbox cars on it. Still some very nice looking furniture for the price.

Does anyone know the floor to base height at the highest setting?

Have been looking at platform beds but are too low. Captain beds are high enough (19" floor to base) but don't have queen. Will be using a 2'' mattress topper on plywood only w/o box spring, mattress, or slat due to back issues.

Yes the Hemenes line is a lot better than the super cheap ones that are essentially made of cardboard with wood pattern printed on it...

However (unless they've made some radical changes in the last 6 years) these are by no means high quality.

You're moving up from college student apartment quality to grad student apartment quality...

Both of my daughters have had the Hemnes dressers for about 5 years now. Five years in, the drawers are starting to break and will no longer close properly without some extra shoving. The finish has held up well though.

I guess, you should look for material than the brand. Solid maple wood furniture on a unknown brand would be definitely better than Ikea's any engineered wood...
