PUT A FORK IN IT... THIS OFFER IS DEAD!.
This info is buried in an expired thread from a few days ago, so it would be difficult to find it. Thanks eryeal for the info!
To apply for a credit card by phone, please call 1-800-932-2775 and a personal service representative will help you. Please mention priority code VABJOM. It took me 14 minutes to apply.
This is through Bank of America. I already have the Visa Signature Cashback Card and asked if I could apply for this one and the rep said it's a different promotion, so it was OK to apply.
Not sure if this number will help if you are not instantly approved... but this is the (Credit Analyst) for reconsideration phone number 866-458-8805 (only open during normal business hours).
*Update 7/23/2012 for those that already have this card* - I already have this card and called in to apply for it anyways. I told the rep I already have the card and she said I could still apply and she was right. I just now called the reconsideration line and the guy approved me for this card and the BOA Mastercard giving $300 cashback for a total of $700. Good to keep in mind in case you find a great deal on a card you already have... just call in and see if you can get another card with the great promotion.
Glad I could be of help to the people that got in. And thanks to the people that gave reps... as impressively small of a group as you were, I appreciate it.
Can you please explain the procedure for amazon payments?
And on the other side, can we buy prepaid credit card from Walmart and deposit those money in our checking account? I means swipe those card in banking center and that money gets deposited.
Any idea on this?
just sign up on payments.amazon.com.
you can then send money to a friend or family member using a credit card or prepaid card (i used the prepaid cards amex sent me on the previous deals, the 25 on 50 loads).
i sent the money to my gf, then she transferred it into her checking account from her amazno payments account (think paypal, but without the fees).
she then gave me the money back. good way to unload prepaid cards or meet spending criterias with cards. its essentially paypal with no fees.

Still waiting for my card. I applied July 23 and called the reconsideration dept right after and was approved. At that time, the rep said I should be receiving the card in 7 to 10 days. Forgot to ask the rep to expedite it. Have been watching the mail every day for it to arrive. Tempted to call to have them expedite it, but figured it will only confuse them and they will send two cards. Tomorrow should be the 10th business day and maybe the card will be there. Am also wondering if I could call and get the credit card number.
EDIT: Received the card on the 10th business day after applying for the card.
I just updated my score on credit karma.. To my surprise my score went down from 770 to 703 !! :-o
My balance credit card balances remain the same... It should actually go down soon after chase reports this month's statement...
But, for now, the score went down so much for 2 new accounts?? Really?
Anyone with similar problem?
I've never had much luck with Credit Karma..Every time I go on and check my score, I laugh.
Always in the low 600's...Yet applied for a lease on a new car..they said 770 in april...after that applying for this card and then following it the citi card with CB they are all in the mid to low 700s. Credit Karma just doesn't get my credit score even remotely close...
The day after i called application status hotline is when my card was in the mail! With $400 offer. Took them like a week to approve my application, I never called to for reconsideration.
edit: I never saw anything in my card mail stating the 0% APR, i wonder if i have this? I believe i have gotten cards with this before, but always payed full balance each month. With 0% aPR is the benefit that you can just pay minimum payment and no fees or interest correct without hurting your credit score?
I got my card and activated it. A few days later, i receive another card from the same account number but the card has a smartchip this time. Why was I sent two cards??????????

This is bittersweet. Who doesn't like to get $400 back for spending $500? Well, this cost me 9 points on my credit score where as the $300 back with Chase Freedom did not lower my score. Now I'm below 800. Bummer.

Are you buying a car or taking out a home loan in the next few months? If not it doesn't really matter. If you are then you should't have been applying for credit cards.
It doesn't permanently remove points.

Good Idea. Let me try that.
