Since the deal is dead, and many people got their subscription cancelled, try Slacker.com [slacker.com] instead.
- Slacker.com [slacker.com] has over 290 preset stations like Hard Rock, Classical, Dub Step, Comedy and more.
- Create your own stations like Pandora.com
- Stream for free on the website or through the Android phone/tablet, iPhone/iPad and Windows Phone apps.
- With Slacker Plus*, download (cache) up to 15 stations so you can listen to them offline, without an internet connection.
- With Slacker Plus*, remove the advertisements and get unlimited song skips
- Caching your stations work great while listening in the car, wont cut out while going under a bridge, or while getting gas that has an overhang (like satellite does)
- *Slacker Plus is only $3.99 a month (with a 7 day, no credit card needed, free trial).
- Slacker Plus is over $10 cheaper than Sirius, especially counting all the fees like music royalty fees, internet subscription fees, activation fees, taxes, etc. You can also just try the streaming for free before you get Plus.

For deals (or anything) like this, I use the incredibly useful disposable email service at http://10minutemail.com/ or http://www.mailinator.com. This prevents the swine at XM from spamming my real email address. F**K 'EM.

Deal is DEAD, and don't worry if you missed this deal BECAUSE they cancelled everyone's account anyway after just a week. We fell for a "fake mistake", there was no mistake, this was carefully planned, now xm has millions of emails to spam and market to and brag that it's app was downloaded more than pandora and songza combined.. Now it's your job to remove the app and give it 1 star in the market and in yr review mention other services such as songza and pandora, it's the least you can do.. --Or, someone mailed out the URL link for a prize they won in a contest. Everyone jumped onto something that was obviously intended for the winners of a Chevy Sweepstakes and then got mad that free stuff was taken away from them.

Free account that I don't use. Since you can't change the password it shouldn't matter to share, just don't use up all the 4 skips! haha.

Thanks Lp113, it seems like it got cancelled though.

It is for Sirius XM Online and via their Smartphone Apps. NOT FOR YOUR CAR or HARDWARE for SIRIUS/XM RADIO.

The news radio has commercials, not the commercial free program SIRIUS radio has promised.

This trial requires NO CREDIT CARD, no hassles! Just provide an email, and you can make up and first and last name and use any US Zip code. ( 90210 if your really unoriginal. ) Promo Code: CHEVY1YR

Note: Your email address will be your login name and the password they provide you cannot be changed.
The trial is for 1 YEAR, use the link provided, and sign up. It includes all the channels (Music, Talk, Howard Stern, Playboy and MLB. ), and even the On Demand Content. ( Does not include NFL, NBA, or NHL. )

iPhone and other mobile phone instructions: go to sirius.com, then look for link at bottom that say go to full site. once there, leave it on, open new browser, go to this thread, click on OP link and it should work.

Features & Tips

When you hit PAUSE on the app, it continues to use data while it records the stream so you don't miss the conversation on the talk show or miss the rest pf the song when your phone rings or when you simply pause the music.

There is no stop button so don't just hit HOME.

Make sure you Kill the app every time (else it may run in background and drain your battery and risk going over your dataplan.
.

HOW do you kill an app and does it get rid of the app???
Killing app removes it from your background running processes
New version of Android hit the multi-task key and delete the app from your recent process -- or if you have an older version you will need to use a Task Manager or stop the app by going to Settings -> Apps -> Running -> Select the App -> Stop
On iOs -- press the home button / double tap the home key / press and hold the app / delete

This only applies to actual CAR or SIRIUS/XM hardware:
WARNING! I just canceled after a year deal extending the Sirius satellite radio that came with my new car purchase a while back. Their customer service was horrible: one could not cancel online, the first level reps transfer you as soon as you try to cancel to another line where the hold times were ridiculous, and there the customer service reps were determined to argue/plead/offer you one or two free months to stay another year. Even when I firmly said no, the conversation went on forever. Cancelling took about an hour in toto--that's ridiculous.

CAVEAT EMPTOR! You may regret this in a year.

The striked statement above is completely unrelated to this deal. This deal is for a free year of internet radio. You do not have to put in a credit card or any information other than an email and fake name and fake zip, so you don't have to cancel or anything. Not sure why this was ever posted here.

It's nice to give out some personal reviews on Sirius Radio on vehicle because it's all about Sirius.

If you want to use it in your car, and your car has a AUX port or Cassette Adapter, or if you have a FM Modulator adapter, you can plug it in via that way and get it in your car, via streaming it on the App. However, please realize it does use data.

In addition to musics, Sirius XM has live baseball like the World Series, the NBA, stand up comedians, Howard Stern, CNN, etc.

If the above is true that the trial without the code is only for 7 days.. you are better off trying the below link which at least gives you 30days!!

I guess I'm one of the ones that really enjoys Sirius XM's service and am considering just paying for it. I can't f-ing stand the annoying commercials they play on Spotify / Pandora. The commercials actually make me dislike the product they're advertising more like the one from Flo from Progressive . Anyone know of a free service that plays a nice selection of commercial-free music like this?

Not that anyone cares, but I appreciated the one week free trial. It confirmed to me that I don't want or really like the service. Stern is mostly repeats, Mad Dog sports radio is a lot worse than other things I can find streaming online for free, i.e. ESPN, WFAN, KNBR, etc.. The music stuff cycles in a loop and the bit rate is piss poor. I'll even add that the iOS app looks like it was created by an amateur and not by a multi million $$ corporation.
Oh well.

You do know that if you pay for spotify or pandora the adverts go away?
I think spotify, pandora and xm are all three very different services.

Pandora is a music recommendation service. You can't say listen to a whole album from start to finish.

Spotify is music streaming service mostly catering to people who know what they want to listen to. They also do a pandora'esque radio recommendation service.

XM is entertainment radio with sports, news, weather and some canned music streaming. Mirrors terrestrial radio without adverts.. Or so they claim.. have you listened to Howards station?

I love SiruisXM too so you are not the only one. There are no other services out there that offer no commericals like XM, so I have no idea why people prefer junk like Pandora and Spotify. I enjoy listening to non-commerical, new music, anywhere including my car. Nothing beats this service. You just got alot of angry people here as a result of an error. I'll just continue to enjoy XM and their product. I have no issue paying for service I enjoy..without commercials and in my car.

Commercials on Pandora? I'll listen it to hours on end at home, or at work when I can, and I hear maybe one brief commercial every couple hours, if that. I just have a free account too. Not sure what other people are hearing..

(Plus I can skip songs I don't like..unlike XM).

So you are considering paying $14.49/month to be locked into a contract as opposed to $10/month for access to everything on Spotify. I liked the SiriusXM Internet radio, but it was in no way better than Spotify.

Spotify is cheaper and there are no commercials if you pay. It gives you access to pretty much all the music you could want. I say "pretty much" because they don't have some of the all time greats (Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, AC/DC, Metallica, Pink Floyd, and Radiohead) but I own all of those bands' music anyway. So you are paying $180 a year to listen to whatever Sirius is playing instead of $120 a year to listen to whatever you want. I like SiriusXM's service a lot. There is always something good on if you flip through the stations, but I don't see how you could say that it's better than Spotify's premium service. The only advantage is that you can listen to it in your car without using your cell data plan. But then again, with Spotify, you can download music at home on your wifi and listen to that when you're on the road.

I never said I was entitled to anything. They said I was entitled to 1 year. They then changed their minds. Dispute that. Go.
Really? They said you were entitled? How did you win the " Chevrolet Game Time Sweepstakes"?

If you find a coupon in the gutter that says "Lifetime of free cellphone service from AT&T" and you take it into an AT&T store and they hand you a phone and activate it, would you be this upset if they call you in a week and say, "When we contacted our corporate offices with that coupon we discovered that it was a photocopy of another person's prize" would you feel equally entitled to the free service?

Essentially, the same thing happened. Someone told you that they had found a code. You didn't question it, even though it clearly had something to do with Chevrolet and seemed like an exceptionally good deal. We all took advantage of it. As commonly happens with these deals, the company noticed the discrepancy and took action. For some reason, you feel entitled. If SiriusXM had posted this coupon themselves and then balked, I could understand your anger. However, this coupon was clearly supposed to be a limited offering. There were only supposed to be 375 winners. Another prize in the sweepstakes was free pizza. If someone had won the free pizza and then sent out a jpg of the free pizza code, would you be as mad when Papa John's quit accepting the free pizza coupon?

The argument about the conspiracy theory is ridiculous. This was a prize in a well published Chevrolet sweepstakes. The fact that they didnt use unique URLs was stupid, but stupid doesnt make it their fault.

SiriusXM runs tons of commercials. The comedy/talk stations are commercials interrupted by very brief periods of actual programming.

So after an online chat who referred me to a telephone chat, I also got no where. I kept pushing the issue about my email saying "one year subscription" not trial and calling them on the bull about it being expired because it obviously wasn't at the time. Finally he let the truth slip that they pulled the 6 month and one year subscriptions after learning the codes were "distributed through unauthorized channels". All the rest of the time he just said it expired, but that one time he said they pulled it. Nice...

Didn't love the iphone sirius app that much; had some technical issues. But, I loved listening to Howard Stern. I think he is an absolute genius. I actually, no joke, was listening and something struck me so funny that I just lost it on the train with a bunch of strangers staring at me. I basically couldn't get it together for about 15 minutes after that so I was just laughing and looking like a psycopath - just couldn't help it. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. I know to each is own, and Howard turns off a lot of people but to me, totally amazing entertainment.
