Enjoy your 30 days.
Rinse and repeat.
You can stream online at Slacker.com [slacker.com] or on your phone for free, but the station caching (downloading) is a Plus feature (with a 7 day free trial w/out a credit card). Slacker Plus is only $3.99 a month though too, more than $10 cheaper than Sirius (even more so if you consider taxes, music royalty fees, activations fees, online streaming fees, etc). Slacker Plus is also commercial free, with unlimited song skips. If you decide to cancel, you can easily do it online and not have to worry about being hassled by calling customer support either. The sound quality of Slacker isn't the best, but I think it's still much better than Sirius too.
I switched to Slacker and never looked back.

If you signed up from here the 1 year was not supposed to go to you.

Sirius is NOTHING compared to slacker, especially when you cache your music.

What happened was some asshat who also won the contest discovered that the URL wasn't unique and posted it to slickdeals. Everyone used it(literally hundreds of thousands of people if I had to guess). SiriusXM immediately discovered this and shut down the service(as would be expected).
In essence, you won a contest and got sent a coupon but because a less scrupulous individual photocopied the coupon and used it 10,000 times no store will take your coupon.

1. SiriusXM could have sent me another email with a new code. They didn't. They have my email address.
2. There are lots of free Internet radio services. Honoring it for everyone would have helped them build their brand and if only 10% of them decided to continue after a year, they would have gained 1,000 new customers. What would it have cost XM? Almost nothing.
3. It is just bad business
Not that it matters. SiriusXM is going the way of Polaroid pretty quickly.
