Enjoy your 30 days.
Rinse and repeat.
It may have already been noted, but starting sometime in September most sports are no longer part of the Internet stream unless you have a physical radio account as well. This means little to no NASCAR, NFL or MLB for Internet only accounts even if you pay for the service. I can somewhat understand not offering the games, but even the NFL channel is blocked. This channel is dominantly NFL talk other than the Thursday, Sunday and Monday night games which you can easily get with Tune-In or other on-line services. This just lowers the value of an Internet only account as these type of non-music offerings are what really differentiates Sirius/XM from Spotify, Pandora, Tune-In, etc.
Tony : I believed Sirius when I was told this
Carl: Tony, that offer was sent by unauthorized channel due to which it expired.
Tony : when did it expire?
Carl: Would you like to take advantage of 30 days trial for Internet radio?
Carl: It was expired 7 days from the time you activated it.
Tony : so that is just false advertising?
Carl: Would you like to take advantage of 30 days trial for Internet radio?
Carl: You're correct.
Carl: Is there anything else I may assist you with today?
Tony : can you please give me your full name?
Carl: My name is Carl, we are not authorized to provide full name.
Carl: DO you have any more questions for me?
Tony : Can you pass me to your manager?
Tony : I would like to elevate this and want to refrence you in my conversation how would I refrence you
Carl: I'm sorry, manager is not available on the floor and I'm the supervisor.
Tony : do you have a id number?
Carl: ID is 1818095
Tony : thank you
Carl: You're welcome!
Carl: I hope that I have answered all of your questions. Thank you for contacting SiriusXM and have a nice day.
me: this promotion was very misleading it appears
(sirius customer service rep) Daniel: We caused the code to expire when we learned that it was distributed through unauthorized channels.
They offered 30 day to me as well. too good to be true.
they offered for a 2nd radio for half so i hooked my wife up and we were happy customers for about a year. then they took the repeater down in my area. customer service repeatedly LIED saying it was being worked on, when in fact they removed them completely. I found out 4 months later from the news (people actually complained to the news about this) and when they checked, they said, they were taken down and not coming back. this hosed me for any indoor service (at work specifically) and then the merge/buy out came and then the price hikes came and the customer service got progressively worse. so i finally had enough and canceled. It took me a while to get used to regular radio again, but finally i did and was happy i was no longer paying for crappy service. Until i saw this deal i was done with Sirius/xm So i figured what the heck, 1 year free, why not.. well now i know why not..
I will no longer have anything to do with such a craptastic company.

I question how well the repeaters work. I drove all the way from Seattle to San Francisco and in areas where there are zero repeaters I had no problems with reception at all. I have a Roady 2 equipped for both home and car.
Perhaps those repeaters are for the Sirius Satellite only? I am using XM and there's only 2 XM satellites but 3 for Sirius so they are using different distribution channels, unless they consolidated it all.
I am surprised my free trial was cancelled. It says right there in the email that I get one free year and I only got 1 month if even that (I didn't really check until recently). It just doesn't seem right. I never trusted this company to begin with. I read all the horror stories beforehand about them strong arming people into higher contract prices in the past and getting away with it.
I do like the radio service because it's better than my local stations and it makes a long drive from Seattle to SF so much more enjoyable. It's also nice that you can negotiate a lower price each year. For those of you who like the service, there are people on Ebay who sell the Lifetime service along with the radio. You'll pay upwards of $300 easily, but for some it's totally worth it. You just have to pray that your radio never breaks.

Unlike you, though, I do NOT think it is nice that you can (must) negotiate a lower price each 6 or 12 months. As a matter of fact it is offensive. Oh sure, negotiating 5-10% lower might be "nice" of them. But from what I see, you call them and get a fairly reasonable price of $24.99/6 months ($4.71/month) if and only if you get auto-renewal. Right before expiration, you must call again and get the offer repeated, ad infinitum. Otherwise, you get hit with with $160/12 months ($15/month)! Triple the price! That's almost the cost of satellite TV which actually has video and not just sound. And cable TV/satellite does not lure you in with such absurd promo to non-promo price ratios. There are a lot of price unconscious customers in the auto sector, and you can't blame them for trying to charge them a LITTLE BIT higher price. But get serious, Sirius. Until they stop this unbridled gouging and hoop-jumping, I'll never ever ever never ever never subscribe. The freebie misfire doesn't really upset me, but their charge-anything pricing model is a complete turn off.
I am using the iPad app. It's a great interface! Works flawlessly so far...

I can understand your mis-givings. I have the same feelings. I know how low down and dirty Sirius is, but being able to listen to near CD quality audio pretty much anywhere my car goes has been worth it. Not to mention there are zero alternatives, Sirius has monopoly on satellite radio. I'm thinking of getting one of those Lifetime subscription radios on ebay, it might be worth it. I wouldn't have to haggle each year to lower the price.
Over the past 2 years I will have paid roughly $90/year which included a free radio that I eBayed for $30 in my first year. Works out to about $7.50/mo which is worth it. I do not allow them to have access to my credit card. There is an option to pay by check, so that's what I do. I don't give them the ability to auto-renew by using a credit card.
There' a lot of companies that do business like this Sprint is one of the worst. You can call them up and negotiate all kinds of freebies and benefits if you find the right person. If you don't find one that will give you free minutes, just hang up and call again. My brother called a few people before he found one that gave him some ridiculous deal 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited data, unlimited weekends, etc for $40/mo or something like that.
