open to U.S. residents (excluding Puerto Rico), 18 years or older at the time of entry and Canadian residents (excluding Quebec)
begin at 12:01 a.m. (Central Time) on November 2, 2012, and all entries must be received by 12:00 p.m. (Central Time) on November 7, 2012
Judging. All essays must be written in English. The essay cannot be more than Three Hundred (300) words in length and must be original. Approximately eighty (80%) percent of the essay will be judged on how compelling your story is and twenty (20%) percent of the essay will be judged on composition. The winner selection process will be conducted as follows: Step 1) An initial screening of all essays will be conducted by the Lands' End Social Media/Marketing team to determine the top one hundred (100) essays received; Step 2) A team consisting of three Lands' End creative and editorial team members will review the one hundred (100) essays recommended by the Social Media/Marketing team and select the top ten (10) essays; and Step 3) A select committee of Lands' End management will choose the prize winners from those essay's recommended by the creative and editorial team.
Prizes and Odds. Three (3) Grand Prize (hereinafter "Prize") packages will be awarded from among all eligible entries received by November 7, 2012.
Three (3) Grand Prize Winners* shall be selected from all eligible entries on or about November 16, 2012, for a trip to Lands' End headquarters located in Dodgeville, Wisconsin scheduled for May 15, 2013 through May17, 2013. The Grand Prize Winner and one (1) guest shall receive 2 nights/3 days in the Madison/Dodgeville, Wisconsin area, each receiving round trip coach airfare for two people from the major international airport nearest to winner's home, plus round trip ground transportation from airport to the hotel and the opportunity to select an entire Lands' End outfit from the 2013 Spring/Summer apparel line (approximate retail value $7,000) – actual value may vary depending on location of major airport nearest to winner's home) and a cash award of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000).
One Hundred (100) Runner-Up Winners shall be selected from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period, to receive one (1) Twenty-five Dollar ($25) Lands' End gift card, redeemable for merchandise only (approximate retail value $25.00).
