I am starting up a new thread to keep track of the Live Search Club issues/status. Please keep this on topic (see original thread here, which was closed due to off topic posts and bot discussions) and do not discuss bots, macros, cheats, etc., except in the context of the status of shipments and accounts being depleted of points.

Current info (as of August 20 - check the Wiki for updates):

Play games for prizes at http://club.live.com

Prizes range from song downloads to (the currently unattainable) XBox 360.

Games and their point maximums:

Chicktionary
Tickets per game: 20
Number of puzzles: 50
Ticket cap: 1,000

Clink
Tickets per game: 10
Number of puzzles: 289
Ticket cap: 2,890

Crosswire
Tickets per game: 20
Number of puzzles: 98
Ticket cap: 1,960

Dingbats
Tickets per game: 3
Number of puzzles: 329
Ticket cap: 987

Flexicon
Tickets per game: 25
Number of puzzles: 381
Ticket cap: 9,525

Seekado
Tickets per game: 15
Number of puzzles: 289
Ticket cap: 4,335

Red Carpet Reveal
Tickets per game: 10
Number of puzzles: 53
Ticket cap: 530

Total number of possible tickets: 21,227 (plus RCR points)

The expectation is that MS will add additional games so that you can get more than 21,227 points, but no one knows for sure when and whether this will happen.

Certain accounts were "zeroed out" (all points depleted) by MS because of suspected cheating via bots, macros, or other means. Certain legitimate (non-cheating) accounts were also zeroed out. No one knows the criteria for suspected cheating, but it is likely that it is speed. If your account was zeroed out, you will not be able to earn points on that account.

If your account was zeroed out, you may not get any previously-ordered prizes. However, recent (late August) self-reported information is that even zeroed accounts are getting prizes, including Zunes.

You may currently only order one software product and one hardware per household (based on account holder address).

FAQ

GETTING STARTED

Can two people in the same household play with separate accounts?

Yes. Please note that there is a limit of 1 of each prize per household.

How many tickets can I earn per day?

There is a ticket limit of 1,000 tickets per day. If you continue to play games after that point you may not receive tickets for those games.

What counts as the start of a new day?

Start of UTC Day
--------------------------------------------
Pacific 4:00 PM
Mountain 5:00 PM
Central 6:00 PM
Eastern 7:00 PM

How often are the puzzles updated?

We never know so check in a lot.

ORDERING AND SHIPPING

Is there a limit to how much I can order?

Yes. According to the current Terms and Conditions you may only order 1 of each prize type per household. IF you are ordering prizes like t-shirts then you may order one of each color or style.

How long does it take to receive an order confirmation?

When you place an order you will receive a confirmation number. Write it down! Make sure your personal information is correct when you place an order. Some people do NOT get confirmation emails. If you do NOT get a confirmation e-mail that doesn't mean you won't get your prize. If it shows in your redemption history you will be fine!

Where does the confirmation email come from so I don't accidently delete it?

Subject: Live Search Club Order Confirmation
From: [email protected]

Where does the shipment email come from so I don't accidently delete it?

Subject: Live Search Club - Prize
From: [email protected]

Some people do NOT get shipment or confirmation emails but it does NOT mean you won't get your prize. Most get their prizes with or without a shipping e-mail.

How long does it take to receive some of the prizes?

All prizes, even song downloads, take generally 6 to 8 weeks for delivery. An estimated delivery date is included in the confirmation email. It may take longer to ship if the item is backordered. Terms & conditions now state up to 12 weeks for delivery.

What do I do if I have issues or questions that aren't answered here?

For all questions regarding your prize you can email [email protected]. You can also contact them regarding any issue, even broken games, via the Help section of the Club Live games website.

How often are the prizes updated?

We never know so check in a lot. If it's a popular prize like an XBox or a Zune they are more likely to keep it around. Those are signature MS items.

Where can I find help with game answers?

Seekadoo help: http://files.filefront.com//;7819657;;/ - use WinRAR to unpack NOT winzip

Flexicon help: http://www.anagramssolved.com/fle...tions.html or http://files.filefront.com//;7942817;;/

- Flexicon is 25 tickets per game.
- Chicktionary is 20 tickets per game. (Get 89% and you get 17 tickets.)
- Spelling Bee is 20 tickets per game.
- Word Slugger is 20 tickets per game.
- Word Duel is 20 tickets per game. (You must score at least 2,000 in a round.)
- Crosswire is 20 tickets per game.
- Matt Lauer is 20 tickets per game. (You must answer every question correctly.)
- Enlivenment is 40 tickets per game. (Only one game available)

- Clink is 10 tickets per game.
- Red Carpet is 10 tickets per game. (You get 1 ticket per question.)
- Star Shuffle is 4 tickets per game.
- Dingbat is 3 tickets per game.

I maxed out all the high ticket games. How can I get more points fast?

Word Duel never runs out of puzzles because it is a live interactive game. You will get 20 tickets per round if you score at least 2000 points. HOT TIP: you can score 850 points if you have the letters to spell ZYZZYVA at the end of a round.

Are there ways any other ways to get points?

You can download the live search club toolbar here [live.com] and receive one point for every search you make.

PRIZES AND QUALITY

How are prizes shipped? What is the quality like?

Songs - E-Mail
Ring Tones - Who uses these anyway and do they come??
Tshirts - UPS (Cheaper points are 100 cotton jersey, higher points 100 organic midweight cotton and pre-shrunk.)
Hats - UPS
Xbox Games - UPS ground
Xbox 360 20g system - UPS (Gamers have reported getting refurbished ones.)
Windows Vista - UPS
Kitchen Aid timer - UPS
Zune - UPS (Color will vary. These are new and being phased out of product line.)
1gig USB Flashdrive - USPS
Bliss Blue Spa Kit - UPS (Very small bottles.)
Camelbak Better Bottle - UPS

Is the Live Search Logo on everything? How can I remove it?

It's pretty much somewhere on all products. Major brand name items like Kitchen Aid and Cannon and such do not have the logo. HOT TIP: An appropriately colored Sharpie pen can cover the logo on several items like hats and some shirts and bags.

What are captchas?

Captchas are systems that have been added to various games to prevent some forms of cheating. Periodically during games you will be required to enter a randomly generated alphanumeric code to continue playing. Captchas will come up frequently if you're a fast typer so slow down a bit.

If we ordered prizes before our accounts got reset, will we still get them?

Nothing has been confirmed, although it doesn't look likely. If MS knew you were botting, and reset your account, why would they still send you the prizes?

Can I use a non hotmail related account on Live Search Club?

Yes, you can use any email, it doesn't even technically have to be valid. Just create a Windows Live Passport. Just go to http://live.com/, click the Sign In link in the top right corner. Follow the instructions and select whether you'd like to use your own email or make a hotmail email account.

What are the best values for prizes (as of Oct 27, 2008)?

2500 Frequent Flyer Miles - 4,300 tickets - $200.00 (assuming 8 cents per mile) - $0.0465 per ticket
Office Ultimate 2007 - 48,000 tickets - $679.99 @ Best Buy/Office Max/Staples - $0.0142 per ticket
Windows Vista Ultimate - 24,000 tickets - $319.99 @ Best Buy/Office Max/Staples - $0.0133 per ticket

Xbox 360 System (20 gig) - 55,000 tickets - $259.99 @ Best Buy - $0.0047 per ticket
Here's a tip:

In Word Duel, if you have two computers and two accounts you can duel yourself and earn 40 points per game -- 20 per account!

Notes:
*You can only have one account per physical address, which is inputted when you redeem a prize
*You can only have one of each prize per account
*The maximum points per day per account is 1000
*Microsoft has been diligent about suspending accounts with no warning if they even so much as suspect that the person is using a bot (as reported on CAG)
*The site says that prizes will ship in 8-12 weeks, but most on CAG report receiving it within 1-3 weeks (oftentimes with no notification)

This website will check for any items that will ship into your city.

I've been reading these threads and I'm confused. First of all, where do people get the information about when the prizes are being shipped? I didn't see anything posted on the club live site. Did I miss it? I ordered a zoo tycoon a couple of weeks ago and haven't received it yet and am over 1,000 points again. Where do you get all your information? Thanks.

Most prizes ship in about a month (29-to-32 days from when they are ordered). Add to that whatever the transit time is for UPS Ground from Louisville KY to your location (Arvato is the fulfillment company, and they ship from KY). Some of the smaller prizes ship via USPS and can take as long as 2 weeks from ship date (i.e. when you get the shipping/tracking email, although the USPS packages do not have a tracking number).

The 'voted' prizes tend to start shipping a bit later, sometimes as long as 2 months after they are first listed, but then they ship at the normal 29-to-32 days after that.

Occasionally some popular prizes get back-ordered and get filled in bulk at some seeming random date during the 12 week period.

However, there have been quite a few people that are not getting their prizes lately, and many speculate that Club Bing revised their order processing method and is now enforcing the ToS more strictly. So, if you did anything in violation of the ToS, like have more than one account, or you used any kind of [thing we are not to allowed to discuss them here], then it is highly likely that your account got flagged and your prize(s) won't be shipping.

Once the 12 week period has passed, you can contact them and ask (contacting them before the 12 weeks has passed will get you a generic 'order being processed' response).

And, from what I can tell, the printer is not back-ordered at this time. Based on the shipping data (it is the only prize that weighs in at about 25 lbs), they have been shipping out a few every week since 3/15 (first listed on 2/12). The most recent was shipped on 6/09.

My prizes used to ship out in about a month but right now it's been nine weeks since I placed one of my orders. I'm absolutely sure I haven't violated the ToS or had my account flagged for any reason, but I guess I'll have to wait until 12 weeks passes to contact them.

The camera was one of those "popular prizes" that got backordered a couple times. Some people even got a different camera instead of the one they ordered (i.e. ordered the DSC-W230 but got the DSC-W330 instead).

Although the camera itself was not all that great, it was one of the prizes that had a good resale value and was easy to 'flip' in the various gray markets (eBay, Amazon, etc). Which is why it is a very popular item whenever it is listed (along with most of the XBOX related hardware, and Windows software).
