There's more of a rational explanation. I live in a state on the coast. We get a lot of hurricane activity from the Gulf, and some pretty serious storms sometimes. A Katrina-like scenario isn't implausible here, and I'd be expected to report in to help if a state of emergency is declared (which would be inevitable). If there is looting, or rampant civil disobedience, I'd rather have something between me and the bullets other than a t-shirt.

It was my eyes as much as the rest of me that was tired. Don't know why, but I doubt I'll have any problem sleeping, later. I loves me some good sleep.
