Not complaining
Because their TV is a 10 year old P.O.S. Why else?
Personally, I stopped buying DVDs long ago:
First I collected collected VHS
Then had to dump them all...(Faded over time and DVDs arrived promising cutting edge features).
Then I collected DVDs...Which eventually would not let me skip the previews/ads, because some widget realized that they could lock out the user and MAKE us watch the crappy previews (and ads of course). Apparently that was the extent of the cutting edge features.
So Blurays I am skipping.... Unless it is a movie I already watched 5 times and plan to watch again 5 more times (IE: Star Wars, LOTR, etc).
The studios killed their audience by doing the lockout thing and I imagine Blurays will be the same (plus I imagine it's even easier to scratch due to density).
And lets not forget 4K TVs will be here soon so Blurays will get replaced as well.
Not saying there is anything wrong with collecting, but I personally gave up for the most part....

re: PUO lockout (where you are disallowed to skip menus) is what you are referring to is called for bluray. It is highly annoying, but for a small cost, you can get a specialized/hacked firmware for some panasonic bluray players that disables this completely! firmware-info.com for more information.
as far as them being easier to scratch.. no way! blurays are MUCH more resilient due to the extra coating that is applied to the disc. even just running your finger over the surface of bluray vs dvd you can tell a huge difference. i own over 600 discs and ive yet to see a scratch on any of them.
the way i see it, like with this deal.. less than $3 to have the BEST quality version available anytime i want without eating up bandwidth or paying for a streaming provider hoping they have it is well worth it to me!
Flashforward to about 5 years ago, I bought it at Target's BF sale when it was $5. Watched it...could not stand it. Maybe because I hate Cory Feldman to the Nth Degree. And of course, he's in a ton of these triple play features...Lost Boys, Goonies, Gremlins, TMNT...ugh.
