You are invited to check out our newly built inventory checker. Currently it supports Target, Staples, Home Depot, WalMart, Office Depot and Radio Shack. Please report any bug or desired feature you might want to add. If you have working URL, please post in this thread so we may add in the tool. Thank you.

Update 09/14/2013: We added a function which you can view recent inquiry history.
Update March 4, 2014: We added
Staples 2 as an alternative for Staples. Staples 2 uses a differnt link than Staples and works on some SKUs that would return error on Staples (examples: 744783 or 417707)
Update March 22, 2019: The checker stopped working for most stores since they have changed their inventory links. Good news is that we just fixed
Best Buy's inventory checker. Please be the first one to check out and let us know your comments or questions.

Every time I run into this on a web site, it leaves a really really strong negative impression about the people behind the site and how they do business. Please fix it.
BTW, you can buy this item from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000JKBCSU/ at $19.50 (sold by Amazon).

It's a small annoyance on one web site...but after hitting dozens over time, it eventually just gets infuriating. Like Chinese water torture.
As general feedback, it's more or less "same as the others", but with ads, a forum, and deals aggregated from other web sites (that doesn't seem very fair, but, well.)
What would make yours worth going to over some of the others would be a mobile version of the site. Or even an app.
Hope you add Best Buy, Lowes and HomeDepot soon. It'd be nice to be able to punch in a sku and see all the stores within 50 miles that stock it.
Regarding adding other merchants, we are constantly looking for that possibility. It is just that some retailers do not provide direct URL access for inventory information (like Best Buy, you would need much more information including product ID and item ID together with SKU ID to lock down the link path. So it is probably much easier just go to Best Buy's website for that).

Staples is the low hanging fruit, you're just using a frame around a url and letting their site do all the work. To do Lowes or Best Buy well, you'd need to write code that would go to all the stores in a certain area, scrape the data from the results, and present it in a useful manner. That's a lot more work on your end, but a lot more valuable on mine.
In other words, I want to hear about or find that this [bestbuy.com] is on clearance, and have an easy way to see all stores within 5 miles that stock it and at what price (Best Buy doesn't have consistent clearance prices...)
If you guys are ever willing to put in that kind of work, make it a subscription only site at like $10 a year. I'd pay for something actively kept up to date and reliable, that at the same time wasn't QUITE available to everyone. It'd be nice to at least have a chance to beat the horde to the Best Buy door

and it stopped working after a while. I KNOW it can be scripted to check B&M ONLY, its just a question of making it happen. Thanks for your hard work though.
