How to generate your own $10 off $50 coupon

With Staples blocking sign-ups from common free email services, it is now more challenging to generate coupons. But have no fear, there are still many ways to go about it. Here is an overview of the easiest way.

You'll first need to buy a domain name. Check out registrars like namecheap.com and name.com, and shop around for deals.

Then, sign up with an email service provider that offers a "catch-all" mailbox feature. This means that emails sent to any address at your new domain will automatically be collected into that catch-all mailbox, essentially giving you unlimited email addresses. For example, if your domain is example.com, emails sent to [email protected] (fill in the blank with whatever you want) can be automatically sent to [email protected]. No need to create new email accounts.

Gmail via Google Apps for Business [google.com] offers the catch-all mailbox feature, as does many other email service providers. It's also possible that your domain registrar included email services when you bought your domain from them (though they may not necessarily offer a catch-all mailbox). Search around for a service that you like.

This sounds complicated and time consuming, but it's really not. Feel free to PM me if you need some general advice about the process. -Olafur

Outdated, but still relevant, information:

Thank you to NoMoreStaples

"Valid through 1/31/14 in Staples® U.S. stores only. Minimum purchase requirement of $50 must be met with purchases to which no other coupon or instant savings offer applies. Tax is not included in calculating the minimum purchase. Not valid on desktop or laptop computers, LCD/LED displays, tablets, netbooks, Apple® products, Bose® products, Amazon Kindle®, NOOK®, Epson® ink and toner, custom printing orders placed online, all Copy & Print self-serve and computer workstation, gift cards, mobile phones and mobile phone services, Staples® EasyTech(sm) professional-grade and on-site services, depot repair and parts, phone cards or postage stamps. Each item purchased can only be discounted by one coupon, applied by cashier in order received and prior to tax. Coupon not valid if purchased or sold and must be surrendered. No cash/credit back. Not valid on prior purchases or on purchases made with Staples® Procurement or Convenience Cards."

Note: Even though the stated expiration date is 1/31/14, it is shown 4/4/14 on the printed receipt. So in some cases, the coupons could be redeemed after 1/31/14 with some talking to Staples cashier/manager.

Yo, stop begging. Just go to mail.com and create a new account and use that email id to request a coupon. Got mine last week in a few hours.

These coupons are valid in store and online (for online, enter the 16 digit code where you apply coupons to your order). However, you are only able to use these once per Staples account online.
I just wanted to confirm so I don't get black listed. I can only use a single $10/50 per account? I know I've used one before for an online purchase, and need to buy something else now. Am I not safe using a new $10/50 coupon on the same rewards account?

Thanks,

Thanks,
You can only use 1 per account ONLINE. You can use as many as you want in-store. If you have already used one online (and it starts with the same digits), I don't believe you will even be able to apply it to your order.

Thanks,
"Regarding "coupon already redeemed" error message at staples.com: If you see this error message, the reason may be that you have ALREADY used another coupon with the same starting 5-digits in your account before. Staples coupon policies "limit one coupon per customer", and coupons starting with the same starting digits are considered by Staples as the same one; hence you see "coupon already redeemed'', while in fact the coupon has never been used yet. Staples.com uses the cookies stored in your browser to prevent you from using another coupon starting with the same 5-digits. In order to use the coupon anyway, please clean all staples.com cache and cookies in your browser, or try a different web browser. Use different rewards accounts or guest checkout if necessary."

No one knows what rules they follow for blacklisting or the criteria they consider for abuse. They use billing address as the focal point of catching abuse using a rewards account and/or guest checkout online. Just do it in-store if possible. They don't seem to care nor check for duplicate coupon type use in-store.

Thanks guy.
So from what I gather I probably wont be blacklisted, but it may not apply
I'll try it, see if it works, and try unloading my rewards on a wifi router for my father-in-law

Thanks

Has anyone generated any 10/50 coupons this week? I have 3 AOL accounts created last week, and still haven't gotten any coupons.

Gmail has been dead for this for a longgggg time. Most other major mail providers no longer work as well.

Nope, that never worked for me. Try mail.com. Lots of options there. You just need to sign up for a new account each time. Staples is making you work for your coupons now.
