My bitch is that It's now after 1 am and we just finished up with changing the timing belt and valve cover gasket on DW car that died on her while waiting for the light to turn green so she could turn left to continue on to pick up DS1 @ school...

The timing belt slipped or broke and there was no engine damage? I wouldn't bitch about that. I'd be thanking my lucky stars.

I did that once with chocolate pudding I made that slipped out of my hands on a popcorn ceiling, what a mess I feel for you

I would have to agree with that statement, if it's an interference engine, oh boy, he can kiss that baby good-bye as far as a repair bill goes That is one major problem, and when people are told there are "x amount of miles on the vehicle" and that needs changed, there is a damn good reason for that The valves will open at the wrong time and then be struck by the pistons, and the end result will be hundreds of dollars in damage to the engine It's not just a Technician saying it needs to be done to make money off of you; it's trying to keep your engine from extensive damage

You're telling me. I had an early 80's Honda Accord and needed to replace the head gasket. My shade tree mechanic brother in-law insisted on helping me. He made sure the cylinder was at top dead center when he re-attached the heads.

Too bad he counted the cylinders from the wrong end of the block.

He isn't allowed near any of my cars now.

I would also try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser on it. They're pretty inexpensive.

Well, I survived the stress test, now I just have to wait for the final results. So far everything looks good but I guess the pictures will say for sure. The anxiety was the worst part of the whole ordeal but once things got started I just focused on what was happening and everything went pretty well.

My blood pressure leading up to the stress test when I was still really freaking out about the whole thing went up to 156/98 but once I got on the treadmill it never went above 130/80.

I guess now I just wait for the final results and see what happens next.
