Reminder: today (2/26/13) is the last day to use the Redbox codes from the recent text promo.

Have a number of useless (to me) codes. Feel free to help yourself.

5XQRRR36 - Upgrade to Blu-Ray for the price of a DVD
WR26WXVT - Free DVD with Movie/Game rental
HMWXJRT6 - Free DVD with Movie/Game rental
TMVJN6WW - .50 off any rental

I went through all my cards & even the movie I returned about 10 minutes late wasn't charged... the rest were all .32 for blu-ray. So over 10 cards (including rebate cards) no anomalies but it's always good to check. Wonder what happened with yours?

Was going the tell you to confirm the charge posted or if it was just "held." I see that even when I use a voucher/credit, it still puts a hold on my card. But after a few days it disappears.

From your two posts and one that I saw elsewhere it sounds like you were able to use the R1G1 code (or at least how it sounded) as a Rent 1 free code? Is that right?

It sounded from what the other person wrote (which I can't find so maybe it's in the other thread) that he had to add two movies & then take one out of his cart, but it kept the code/deduction so he got it free? Is that what you did and did you do it @ the Kiosk then.

Someone also said they were able to stack two coupons a R1G1 & $0.50 on top of each other at the kiosk and I've never been able to stack codes at the kiosk before... THANKS!!!

EDIT: I just tried it online using a "Rent any movie or game & add a 1 day DVD rental free w/ code..." and it worked. It took 1.20 off and I only had 1 Blu-ray movie in the cart so YEAH!!! SWEET!!

That's not me that was reporting being charged it was PhantasmX. Right it's always going to put a holding charge on the card in order to determine that it is a VALID card. Because if you end up keeping it two days Redbox isn't about to wait until that second day to find out the card is valid so they put a hold on the amount whether you rent it free with a code or not. But AFAIK I've never had them do what PhantasmX is saying happened to him.

I got about 6 or 7 free/cheap movie rentals with the Redbox text promo. How about the rest of you?

Hey there, sorry I didn't get around to reading your post until now. I sometimes only check once a day. Yep, that's it, the R1G1 free code worked exactly as a free rental code that we get every month. I also wondered about stacking codes, but didn't try it. I think once you enter the promo code, I don't know if you can enter it again, I don't recall. Glad it worked out for you to get $1.20 (plus tax) off your Blu-ray rental.

Hey thanks for both the replies. If you have any of those codes today, I used two this afternoon to reserve & picked up three more for free. I am going to try to do 1 or 2 more that I wasn't able to watch. I tried the codes on my PC and then on my redbox app & they worked on both. I tried one @ the kiosk and it didn't work.

EDIT: Just tried to use two codes that hadn't been used and they shut it off. Oh well. Figures, maybe REDBOX is catching on to the online/app loophole. We'll have to see next time.

Ahh, so sometimes there's a delay on when they say it expires vs. when it actually does expire. I don't think I've ever tried an expired code since I assumed it is disabled by midnight of that day. I'm set w/ movies for a while now.

Yeah, I get used to following a routine, when codes don't work after the date you get used to trusting that they don't work. In the past I was following the assumptions that when they say a deal is done, it's done as well, and for good reason, I had been at kiosks at & then after midnight & seen codes die instantly at the stroke of midnight.
...But it seems ever since they turned on the machinery so to speak to allow us to use the monthly and now these extra type codes online & with Smart phone Apps, like the DWTFREE4, which they did kill at the Kiosk per usual, but the code lasted an entire second day as well. Then the following week with the valentines codes last the entire second day. This time it was shut off sometime between 3:00PM CST last time I used one with my Android phone & 9:00PM when I tried to do it again.
Who knows they may have figured out about the glitch oops. I'll sure be trying it again next time though to see.

P.S. I rented Fun Time (thought it was going to be a good Teenage angst fun romp) plus I love the Subpurgatory chick & pantyhose.... but except for the Pantyhose the movie just plain disrespected the teen angst line/genre. John Hughes is rolling over in John Candy's grave!

Oh yeah, I forgot that DWTFREE4 went an extra "bonus" day and due to positive feedback in this thread, I used it to rent my first movie via redbox.com.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll avoid that movie. One movie I enjoyed much more than I was expecting was "Here Comes the Boom" starring Kevin James. Then again, I'm a fan of UFC, so I was able to relate to it a bit more.
