What's up guys. This is my first Slickdeal and I hope it's considered a Slickdeal; I really felt it was.
For those of you that have Bank of America's Privacy Assist credit monitoring service, be aware that they recently had a massive lawsuit against them that is forcing them to refund $700M+ to Privacy Assist customers.
Note: If you have ever had any of their other "credit monitoring" services, you should be eligible for a refund as well.
I found this out last night when I decided to cancel the service (I was looking for ways to save $10/month here and there) and Google'd for their number.
Canceling was very easy and all I did was mention that I read about a recent lawsuit filed against them and asked if I was entitled to any refund. The kind lady informed me that I would be refunded for my full 74 months of service ($12.99/month, $961.26 total refund). It hasn't hit my account yet but I was in shock.

And if they still give you a hard time, kindly say you'll be contacting the Consumer Protection Bureau to have the issue resolved.
Free? Didn't you pay for it?
I would call and tell them exactly that. You canceled a while back because you had no clue you were being charged for that service and you just read about the lawsuit that entitles you to a refund. I'm catching up with everything since these quoted posts above so bear with me!
I'm getting (or was at least told I'm getting) $961.26. That's 74 months of service, or 6 years + 2 months. So you should be entitled to the same.
I posted the number in the OP as well as a few posts down from OP.
This seems fishy; it doesn't seem like BoA are complying very well. They clearly didn't "complete" shit because I haven't received anything and had to call.
Oh. I thought the top number was a general number and your other post about a 'special' number was a different one. Thanks.
Exactly!
Some BoA employee talks about shady practices here:

But all in all, apparently no "Privacy Assist" no refund.

According to the article about the lawsuit, the Credit Protection Plus plan should also fall under this Consumer Protection Bureau order.
Hate to be a broken record, I'm just trying to help!
The bank improperly billed 1.5 million consumers about $459 million from October 2000 to September 2011, according to the bureau.
Also, from 2010 through 2012, Bank of America marketed two products, "Credit Protection Plus" and "Credit Protection Deluxe" that allowed customers to cancel some credit card debt if they lost their job or had some other hardships.
But the bureau said Bank of America deceived about 1.4 million customers into making about $268 million in payments by, among other things, improperly telling them the first 30 days of coverage were free or the benefits were greater than existed.

Thank you very much OP!!!...the sweetest deal ever!!!
It is well known the credit karma score is a FAKO score, this means it is based on the actual FICO but can vary quite a bit.
In my experience the CK score is always higher than the real deal.
Its a free service, if your going to complain then dont use it.
If you want a real credit score monthly for free sign up for the Discover IT card or Wal-Mart credit card.
Plus, you post doesn't differ from my post much, which makes it seems as if you just wanted in insult me.
Please think before you type.

Not trying to be "elitist" but a 625 on creditkarma is generally considered poor.
If you didnt want judgement then you should not have posted your score.
You must have done something financially irresponsible to achieve such a score, but whatever.
I did say that you could acquire you FICO score from various credit cards and that in itself was pretty valuable info. You can also get your FICO from a Barclay mastercard.
