Costco Black Max 2800psi 2.3gpm Honda Motor Pressure Washer $259.99

I'm going to preface this with the note that I wouldn't necessarily classify this as a "slickdeal," but Costco brought back the pressure washers at my local store a couple days ago, so I had to pick one up. They used to carry the Simpson ones, but I've heard horrible things about them, seen people returning them personally, so I think Costco decided to change things up.

It's a Black Max, 161cc Honda Motor, 2.3 gpm, 2800 psi pressure washer with soap compartment (cut off in the bottom of my photo, but the blue cap can be seen in the photos on the boxes). 6-in-1 nozzle with the following spray patterns: 0 deg, 25 deg, 40 deg, long range soap, short range soap, and car. Costco Item #131229.

I've been monitoring all of the pressure washer threads recently and I know everyone is looking for one with a Honda motor (myself included). I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. Costco extends the manufacturer's 2 year warranty out to 3 years, so it's relatively risk-free.

I think this is very comparable to the Troy-Bilt pressure washer with the Briggs and Stratton motor at Lowe's for $249 AC. But then you have to purchase the Lowe's warranty to be comparable. Or get the Troy-Bilt with the Honda motor for $349 (?).

Here's the Amazon link to the washer, with only 9 mixed reviews:

How did you ever guess that? Smilie Yes, suburbs of Seattle. I've been waiting months for them to bring one in, and it literally just popped up two days ago. I'm hoping people can use the Item # to call and check availability, or status. Good luck!

Side note, I used to live in Atlanta. I'm pretty excited to see that new Falcons stadium go up!

Not sure you can say a 161cc engine with 2800 PSI and 2.3 GPM is "very comparable" to a 190 cc engine with 3000 PSI and 2.7 GPM but still nice find given the Honda engine and Costco warranty.

Costcos across the country are getting in the new Powerstroke Electric Start pressure washer, w/ Subaru engine. i'll take that any day over the black max or the simpson they used to carry

the Powerstroke has 3100 psi and 2.4gpm

"A new PowerStroke Electric Start 3100 PSI Pressure Washer powered by a Subaru engine will be introduced to the market this Spring. The unit will deliver superior power and functionality. The electric start engine makes this pressure washer as easy to start as a corded electric unit, but still supplies the force needed to tackle tough applications. Since the engine is commercial duty, the pressure washer is perfect for use around the jobsite, as well as the home.

Electric Start
As if Subaru engines were not already easy to use, this unit comes standard with electric start. With one press of a switch, the pressure washer is ready to clean. A battery maintainer cable is included with the pressure washer to trickle charge the battery between uses so it's always ready. In the event the battery is not charged, the unit's recoil start may be used.

Subaru Commercial Duty Engine
The Subaru EA190 Vertical Engine has a chain-driven overhead cam design. The engine comes with commercial features including steel rocker arms, heavy-duty piston rings and a cast-iron cylinder liner, all combining to give the engine longer life.

Cleaning Power
Boasting 3100 PSI and 2.4 GPM, the new pressure washer is capable of cleaning heavy duty applications. The unit includes four, professional-style nozzles, allowing the user to obtain the correct degree of cleaning force. The pressure washer also sports an on-board soap tank. Users can simply install the blue soap nozzle to apply detergent, then switch it out for any of the other three, higher degree nozzles to rinse with clean water.

The new pressure washer, model PS80310E, will be available at Costco in April.

I bought an electric power washer by black max and it really impressed me.
This is a great price for a great power washer.

oh man that sucks! yeah both Costcos closest to me got the Powerstrokes in. I'm actually gonna flip my Craftsman Honda engine one on ebay and prob make ~ $80 profit and put that towards the Powerstroke. cannot beat Subaru engine, electric start , higher psi and gpms, lifetime return policy, for $299. no brainer

only thing better than a Honda small engine, is a Subaru small engine. some may disagree with that...they have a right to, doesn't mean they're "right" though Stick Out Tongue

Where are you? I'd like to try and grab a SKU to see if any of the local ones have them on order.

I'm in Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia.
i'll have a SKU for you tonight if I'm able to stop into Costco to pick one up on the way home from work today. otherwise i'll be getting it tomorrow on my lunch break

what's strange is the sign says "Also Available on Costco.com" which it blatantly isn't lol

I would be wary on the whole "lifetime warranty" thing with Costco. I was also under the impression that anything can be returned to Costco at any time, for any reason. Well, they do have exclusions. Some electronics, and I specifically asked about the pressure washer. They only extend the warranty from 2 years to 3 years, and then pro-rate the refund amount after the 3 year warranty period. That's not exactly what it says on their website, but that's what she told me.

Cool that would be great. I just called around to the Philly-area stores and they couldn't locate any aside from the Simpson Honda ones....weird

Truly amusing given the only Briggs engines I have ever heard praised are the commercial Vanguard units, and those aren't made in the USA (they're made in Japan)...
