Has anyone won a contest, and received the prize, but then a couple weeks later, received a check from the company. The check was not one of the prizes

I wanted to enter trip sweeps, but I'm wondering if you can decline airline tickets/ hotel vouchers so that it is deducted from the ARV of the win. There are a lot of NYC trips that include shopping sprees & gift cards.
I live close enough to NYC that I can get there in less than 10 minutes. So if I were to win, can I just claim the shopping spree part of a sweepstake and not the transportation/ room part? |

I have a question concerning the warranty on prizes you have won. Often you may only have a letter congratulating you on your win included with your prize. Or you may have only a email notification of your win, or sometimes nothing - a prize shows up at your door. So how do you go about getting a repair or replacement under warranty, and if you were to sell or give away the prize how do you give the recipient a warranty. GLTA and TIA!

Has anyone had luck with the Facebook security check? I have an account I use only for sweeps, but they are asking to verify my identity by entering my cell phone number. Since I have a regular account on Facebook, I do not want to use my main cell number. I've tried to use a Google Voice number and a Landline number that receives text messages with no luck!
It's going to be much more difficult entering contests since a large chunk of contests are FB only and I'll have to weed through them! |

![]() EDIT: Forgot to add that if you have an old Verizon phone with a clean esn, you can get a free activation with PagePlus. 120 days with $2.00 credit. Refills start at $10 if you want to keep it for a backup. Last edited by SamTheSham626; 08-17-2012 at 03:36 PM.. |
