I made my first post about this as succinct as I could because the list of what they shouldn't be doing would take me until rapture to type.
At peak times, their stores are bereft of customers. Their inventory sits on shelves because no one is buying. We, as coupon royalty, bring them sales and profits. But they are too daft to see it. Their own employees don't know their own coupons and promotions, including management and the way they treat customers is deplorable. They care nothing to correct the many problems over there, which has led to the closing of stores. For all they pay their Corporate officers, one of them should remember something from their time in business school.
i agree with a lot of what you say but i know some kmart employees. they may not know their own coupon promotions if it's not ment for all stores. when this is clearly stated on ads and someone goes into a store that isn't participating all employees may not know the promotion. these associates may get flustered when slick talkers tell them what they have to do. instead of saying the associated don't know the coupon promotion some of the blame should fall on the people who know the promotion, and but don't follow it by going to non participating stores.

I work for a major corporation, and this is not a way to run their business. We get daily memo's entailing promotions that are good for CA theatres, NY theatres, etc....and we are in St. Louis. This is not a valid excuse.
Please don't take this personally, as I am not directing it towards you, but at kmart and their inability to run a business.

Cashiers, teh very people who deal with coupons don't even know the WEEKLY $5 off $50 Qs. Those are storewide coupons that are given out to customers for sharing their email addy. That is nothing short of ignorance that at least ONCE every trip some cashier has to ask if it's ok. And I know the cashiers at my stores, it's not new employees. Not for nothing, if it's not taught why aren't these people intelligent enough to take some initiative to ASK?
I happen to know from a management mouth that they do things they know to be wrong and illegal (the Tinkerbell Barbie DVD/doll deal) and don't give a crap. They even held back Wiis when they were at their peak! What kind of bass ackward company does that?!?!?!?!? They were just sitting in an office, not put on the floor. I've had to call the DM on ONE store's employees no less than 5 times. It happens to be the one that is closing by me...SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!!
I wish I could run Kmart for just 3 months. They wouldn't even have to pay me. Just to make it a better store for us all to shop in would be enough.
