I redid our bathroom myself. Took me 4 months (some nights and some weekends, I wasn't in a hurry). It's really not that bad, if you can spend a few full days on it, you should be done fairly...

I didn't need a sledge hammer, it came down pretty easy by hand....it was gross, and still have to get the rest down.:(

I'd just get a couple of box fans or such to blow fresh air into the garage while you painted...or if done during the summer you could turn off the heater and re-lite it when you were...

Nothing was more satisfying then taking a sledge-o-matic to the pink crapper!

Yea ours was a 1950's house, pink bathrooms were big thing up here in new england. But I hate it.

The toilet is easy to remove and fairly inexpensive to put back. 2 bolt nuts and a wax ring that can be purchased for 3-7 bucks. It just looks like its alot of work to work around the toilet. Or...
