In NC where I shoot, at least the places I've been to in Fayetteville and Raleigh, I've had no problems shooting HP ammo. One place even allowed me to shoot 5.7mm ammo. I guess it is a case by case...

Interesting...at the four indoor ranges I've used, there has never been any mention of not allowing HP ammo. In an auto-loader, I would not carry HP rounds if I had not already fired dozens of HP...

All of the ranges I've visited in VA outlaw HP.. even the NRA's actual HQ in Fairfax, VA which has a 50 yd indoor range.
About the reason I can imagine is that HP may fragment and send bits back...

I gave a TU for a good deal. But this ammo isn't very good for what you would call "defensive ammo", it's more suited to testing out if your firearm feeds HPs reliably. The FBI tested this ammo out...
