You don't have to use it on the blackout dates, it's just that you can't use the cheap annual passes on blackout dates, so you might as well use the 4-day pass on those days, the best of both worlds.

They did not check any of our ID's - there were 3 of us and like I said - we were told to fill out our names on the back of the pass - but you can always do that in pencil or erasable pen.
