Took a chance and ordered one. I'm not too worried. If there's any problems I expect the warranty to resolve it. Also earned Consumer Reports "best buy" so I'm not too worried I'll be returning it.

since the onkyo doesnt have upconversion, i think you have to go the same way you went into the receiver, into the tv, meaning component in, component out.

It has one Output HDMI to your TV and three input HDMI ports for your...say PS3, Xbox and Cable Box. Need more than that? then get another receiver.

no analog -> digital upconversion = pain in the assets to use with anything other than hdmi
denon avr-590 is cheaper and has upconversion, avr-591 can be had for only $30 more

i think he means the onkyo is a pass thru, and the denon does switching. If all your inputs are HDMI, then no worries, itll just pass through, and you have one HDMI going to the TV

i tried out this system. it doesn't sound good. the speaker & subwoofer felt very cheap and sounded unimpressive. i spent a lot of time reading the manual and configure the system but it was no hope.
