They hired the guy that started the Fall From Heaven mod in the Civilization series, so I am pretty confident good things will eventually come of the game. Eventually being like late this year.

RIFT is fun, but there's no way I'm putting up $60 plus $10/month (at least). If we're going the MMO route, Guild Wars is a cheaper alternative.

Company Of Heroes Online might interest you if you want a tactical war game (Not turn based, but a lot less massy then Star Craft) Its free, and you can play the campaign. IMO its one of the best...

Have they patched Elemental yet? It was supposed to be the spiritual successor to Master of Magic.

While I agree those are all good games (except maybe divinity 2, IMO), I don't know that he would like most of them as Titan's Quest, Torchlight, and the Sacred games are all pretty much Diablo...
