Yeah the retail kit has a drive bay enclosure for use in a desktop. You can also get the enclosure separate I'm sure.

I installed one in a Fujitsu T900 Win 7 64 bit on 12/13/2010. Last week it blue screened, then would boot. THen it is unbootable. Drive is accessible to recover data but is non bootable.

I'm pretty sure not all drives are 100% perfect.. send it in and if it happens 2-3 times in a row, then maybe you can say something is wrong with the drive.
