they can only change the coding scheme so much. unless they start using scripts to hide the real url. or begin generating custom urls for every single posted link.

The easier manual approach when this is needed is just to click reply on a post that contains the link and then copy and paste the actual url (in a reply, the redirects are gone).

I find it slightly amusing that you are posting this on SD, where the SD web dev will see it, and easily know if/when to change the encoding scheme to mess it up

This did work at the time it was posted! I stopped using it and it seems that slickdeals changed the url encoding scheme. If I get the chance I will post an updated version.
