Make sure you factor in your higher fees for your cable modem or broadband service that may be bundled with TV service. Around here just the Internet service by itself is $20 more than if you bundle...

seems like a pretty decent deal. I feel like with cable cheaper is better, since as long as your getting the same channels then its pretty much the same thing.

Your deal sounds pretty good. Yes, all the bad weather stuff is true but I pay like $120 a month for DirecTV. Plus, when I wanted DVR in a second room, that was $$$ - so....I would go for your deal.

Counter with 52/month for 2 years instead for only 1 yr. Make sure how much the rental fee are after 1 year. Direct TV doesn't have the most reliable service(85%).

Read the DirectTv vs Fios thread just a few spots down. If you decided you want DTV, sign up online & use the best current promo you can find(a $50 BB gc is not enough imo, CostCo offers $180)....
