Yes, it will work with any Nikon DSLR because it has a built in motor. I predict people will poop on this lens because it's a Tamron, it doesn't have VR, etc. But if you're working from a tripod...

I don't have any real comparison data, but I'd imagine the Nikon lens to ahve better quality glass and less distortion than the Tamron. But I don't know for sure. Also, people shopping for this...

Nothing against this lens or deal, but seriously? Nearly every application I can think of can use VC at 300mm crop (450mm)...
