9 makes sense, since it's a machine with 6 slots that run in triple channel - thus they will give you 3x2 gb sticks, and 3x1 gb sticks, and fill up all the slots

yes strange. Usually 8 is the max however checking on Dell's site, 9 GB is an option (all the way up to 24GB!) More memory (RAM) increases overall performance and enables your computer to run...

The answer is.................. In the Outlet (which is usually cheaper) it was $1,019. Then after the $200 coupon it was $819. :omg: I'd never buy it, but I didn't see what really made it...
