They probably hook it up to the "PC input" which is a VGA analog. If you want 1080p native you have to use the hdmi input (dvi to hdmi).

You're right, it does have a PC input (VGA) on this LCD. Thanks for pointing that out. But you should be using the HDMI/DVI connection for the native 1080p and it will look better than VGA.
