The weather will be nice...but the water is chilly....brrrrrr! I usually wear a wet suit until the end of June in San Diego. Water is in the low 60s normally during May.

A car would likely be the cheapest unless you find a good deal flying. It is about 575 miles from Vegas to San Francisco..roughly a 10 hour drive. That is a huge amount of driving to do over 2...
