Why not just use this stuff: http://www.samsclub.com/sams/shop/product.jsp?productId=135330&_requestid=147427 It's twice the loads for just a bit more and you don't have to wait for a...

Why not use it? Well, my wife is H-O-T! Especially in her drawers. I don't want her to parade around in dingy gray panties!

Nice work- repped. You may want to make it more clear that the detergents you are talking about are regular detergents made for traditional top loading machines, not HE ones made for front loaders.

FWIW - I've never used Sears Ultra but I'll give it a shot. Instead of getting 5 boxes, however, I'm in for only 2. With the 5% discount and 7% tax, my total cost was $24.37 for 360 loads' worth of...

 The detergent that we're talking about in this thread IS a HE compatible detergent.

I've been waiting for this deal for a while now, so I'm in for one to try. I usually buy a bucket of soap from Sam's Club. Does anyone know how this stuff compares?

AFAIK, if detergent is clumping or leaving residue, it's because you're using too much and oversaturating your water in the machine so it doesn't rinse out very well. The same thing will happen if...

Dollar Tree's Sun brand detergent is $1 for 24oz. unless my math is wrong the sears stuff comes out to be $.0414 per ounce while the sun brand is $.0416 per ounce. Two tenths of a cent difference...

5 boxes * 180 loads per box = 900 loads 900 / 10 months / 30 days = 3 loads per day Yikes, you must never leave the laundry room. Here's a laundry tip -- try washing a pair of socks in the same...

Don't know... I just picked one of these up in Sears today (Columbus OH) for $9.99. If you order some online for pickup, you might want to check the store price when you get there

But the interesting thing to read, if you have on-line access to CR, is the user comments for the top two Tide detergents vs. the comments for the Sears detergent. The Sears comments are all good...

FWIW, this detergent scores #16 out of 20 HE detergents in the most recent Consumer Reports laundry detergent tests.

I thought this detergent (the one posted by the OP) was NOT an HE (High Efficiency) detergent. On any case, could you please provide a link to the CR report?

It is interesting to read, but you have to remember that those are subjective comments. The ratings are determined using objective data.

Twice the loads. How do you figure? From the Sam's link, it says 200 loads. For me, the cost would be $13.98. (plus memebership) From the Sears link, it says 180 loads. With discounts, etc, the...

This is the only detergent we use now. We don't have an HE washer, so I can't vouch for that capability, but it works well for us in our top loader. One thing that might help with the clumping or...

This all holds true for a Top-loading and Front-loading washer like GE and Kenmore....but how well would this work for a Back-loading washer? Some brands that come to mind are WIFE.
