I shoot Canon and not well familiar with Nikon lens lineup, but SDer in me thinks that the new Nikon's 50mm f/1.8 might be a better value now...although I've yet to read a full review of that lens.

I have the Nikkor f/1.8 and it does the job. I'm not a professional and I can't give any specs or reviews but I am happy with it. It's on my Nikon SLR 90% of the time. Great for indoor shots and...
