Creditkarma only gives a range. The best way is to buy them directly from the bureaus, no middleman or scam website needed. This way you know the exact score.

I keep an eye on my score using www.creditkarma.com It's a legit site and if you search slickdeals you'll find a number of discussions about it in the past.

i use www.quizzle.com you get a free credit report every 6 months (experian i think). I have never gotten a call from them trying to get me to refinance or home equity.

If you want a real score (scroe a lender will use) myfico.com is the one of the few places you can get it from. Credit Karma's scores are Transrisk/Vantage scores which lenders dont use.

I didn't do this (yet)... so cannot say it works for sure... But on some other credit forum, people found a way to get ex credit reports(with scores) for life(?) by joining a credit union called...
