1. I have a home automation (HA) in my house: X10. About 20-30 switches, filters, sensors etc. Perhaps, HA scenes make sense in some limited scenarios, for example, there is only one person in the...

some sensors have sensitivity adjustments to cause this to not happen, but you can also set timers on how long the light connected to that trigger last, so it wouldnt leave the light on all day, just...

So to replace an existing 3-way switch, I would need two of these dimmers, one to act as the main, and the other to act as the auxillary? Is that right? Or if I understand this correctly, I could...

Cool, thanks for the info. i might try to figure out how to hard wire the switch in the box so that the outdoor flood light is always on (i think by just installing a jumper wire) and then install...

Why would anyone need to troll when you do all the work for them with your brilliant Monster deals?

The scene controllers tell your master controller to execute commands to turn a scene on/off. Less like a dimmer and more like an In-wall secondary controller. These are great to put where a...

Thanks...but they go into a single gang box, right? Do most of you remove a regular switch to install these, or do you cut in an empty box next to other switches and tap into the power from the...

yep, needs power. you could go either way. the obvious replacement is like my example, where its an existing 3way switch.

I'm a novice regarding house wiring, but bear with me. This says it's 2 wire plus ground for the dimmer. I know that some older houses were wired 2 wire and newer ones 3 wire. Which would this...

1) These are manufactured by Leviton and are identical to Leviton's older Vizia RF line. In fact, "Leviton" is stamped into the metal mounting plate. 2) Keep in mind that these are dimmers. Do...

No, they actually make 3-way dimmer kits for this configuration. They auxillary has no zwave innards and instead relies on the house wiring to communicate with its pair to complete the 3-way circuit.

i agree haters goan hate - people should look past the "monster bashing" when it's on sale like this. z-wave equipment is expensive, so z-wave bash. Find a better priced z-wave item and then go...

i wanted to reply with almost exactly this response, but to me it was unnecessary as anyone ACTUALLY outfitting/using any type of HA already knows this, so anyone blankly hyping/considering the vapor...

IWD600S does NOT have a neutral terminal. You can use some dimmable CFL's, I've used sylvania and earthmate bulbs. Utilitech led bulbs work the best.

I didn't say z-wave was going defunct. I just said that there may be a more appealing/widely adopted option at the end of the year. And it is just my opinion, so it's ok if you don't agree.

I think this kind of wall switch has a plastic spring mechanism. The plastic will get brittle and break after 1-2 years of use. But, I may be wrong, it may use a metal spring...
