if i'm not going to overclock , should i just buy the i5 2400 and not pay the extra $30 for the i5 2500k? I'm assuming there is no other difference between those processors .

If you never plan on overclocking it would probably make sense to get a non K model processor and an H67 motherboard. The downside would obviously be if you changed your mind later and wanted to OC...
